For some reason I actually think this is awesome.. Must be the fact that I never saw it coming and I like the idea of beating the crap out of Shao Khan as Freddy.

Although I would love a Mortal Kombat game with shit loads of characters. Not that I'm not happy with MK9 - I still think it's awesome.

Wow. It's so encouraging to know that all the effort that was put into this could have been directed into cutting down the goddamn lag online.

Fun thing is, this might actually make me buy the game. Freddy's my favorite of the horror lot, and playing him, slicing away at others could potentially put a smile on my face.

Exactly, you'd remember him. The reason why, in Freddy vs Jason, that Freddy used Jason to stir up trouble was to get people to remember him. If you remember him, he'll keep coming back. But if you forget about him, he loses his powers and ceases to be a threat.
But that is the main draw for slasher series: The villain will come back. Also, don't put Saw in with the likes of Nightmare on Elm Street, at least Freddy is funny, Saw is bland. Only the 1st one was worth anything.

What? Ok so apprently in his former like of killing childrens he was also a skilled fighter?
I don't know why but I find him as a DLC character in Mortal Kombat to be weird. I'm fully aware that there are ninja, gods, robot ninjas, modern day people and etc in the game but I still find it werid (I thought Kratos to be acceptable due to the game having god like beings in the game).
