Basically my trial version for Photoshop is up and I really can't be bothered trying to find a keygen or any of that crap, so can you reccomend a good, free alternative to Photoshop?

I need something that has a functionality similar to that of MS paint but more advanced, obviously. Brushes, blur, feathering, etc.
I want to use it to make bebo skins and layouts for various websites :)

EDIT: GIMP slows down my computer (i tried it last week). something other than that, please.

If you'd searched the internet for more than 5 seconds you'd have learnt of:

http://www.gimp.org/

The GIMP

http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Not as intuitive to use though, but dose the job.

Either GIMP or paint.NET, they are both very good programs.

I prefer paint.NET myself, but give both a go.

It comes free with an operating system called Ubuntu, which uses the Linux kernel.

Oh, and that's free, too. So's the Open Office software suite that's also included.

Did you set the default memory allocation to more than your total RAM?

Yeah, Gimp. It has a higher learning curve than Photoshop but a lot of add-ons and such.

fix your computer, it's your PC not the GIMP doing it.

that's the only good alternative to Photoshop
