I own a black Wrath Of The Lich King shirt with Arthas on the back that I got from Hot Topic. During the school year I'd walk in with it and at least one or two of my friends would say 'Holy crap nerd! Why don't you burn that shirt?' Neither of them play WoW, or probably even know its a computer game. Why do they hate it so much?

ppl just seem to like to make fun of WoW players. I personally don't play it but i'm not about to make fun of the people that do.

Maybe because they don't want other people to think they are associated with a loser that plays WoW.

No saying you are a loser, but that's probably what they think.

They know I have a life which makes it funny. Oh I forgot to mention I asked one of my friends if they knew what WoW was and they said 'No not really.'

I love that episode.
It actually got me to start playing!
I don't anymore, though. Costs too much.

On topic: Maybe because it's 'cool' to not like 'popular' things?
Maybe because they know you got it from Hot Topic, which is a terrible store?
Maybe because they are insecure of their own wardrobe, and feel it necessary to mock other's clothes to get attention away from their own 'styles'?

I don't know, people can be stupid.
Sometimes the answer isn't more complex then that.

This, also they mightn ot want to be seen with a WoW person, seeing as WoW is practically a synonym for "Women Deflector"

This could be..But if WoW is popular at my school, then the players hide it well. I know about 6 people that play, 2 go to my school. And yeah she shops at Hot Topic. She also shops at Aeropostale. Which could go with the insecure mocking thing. No offense to those who dress from Aero.

With the amount of time I have spent playing WoW, you would think that I would have some. The only evidence that I even played WoW is the tiny executable shortcut on the toolbar on my computer. It's not something you really want to flaunt.

What? Hot Topic is a clothing store? I figured it was a festival or that you got it free with boxes of cereal or somesuch (it does sound like a cereal brand).

So you actually exchanged money for a WoW shirt? How novel

Play Wow means that you are a lo life loser to some people.

Your friends could be being jerks, or telling you that wearing that shirt might affect your "status"

Maybe because they hate nonconformity. Do what you want! In fact, go to their houses in the middle of the night and rub the t-shirt in their faces whilst they sleep. it would be a tad hard worming out of a police investigation though...

ok one of the best ways i've found to deride people like that is just name people who actually play the game, there's tons of famous and cool people who game

tho since they are teenage boys, i will suggest getting a picture or clip of Mia Rose and then say "yes she plays WoW, so what do you think of people who play WoW now?"
