This is really bad, but I've only played 2 of those.

I won't say which ones.

Aw, what the hell. I'll throw up my own Top 10. In no particular order:

-Mass Effect (series)
-Bioshock
-Uncharted 2
-Halo 3
-Half Life 2
-Portal 2
-Sly Cooper (series)
-Spyro (series, meaning the first AND ONLY 3 games)
-Call of Duty (series)
-The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

EDIT: Right, and your list is perfect. Because it's YOUR FUCKING LIST.

Yes, interesting that not everyone in the world has the same opinion as you. Very interesting.

Honestly, everyone has their own opinion, and while I disagree with pretty much every game on this list - Among them, I've never gotten into the Halo games, and always found Alan Wake to be a spectical of wasted potential - The fact is, I do respect your opinion, as long as you respect mine. Nobody can tell you what games you like or dislike.
The OP asked that we rate his opinions. And I'm sick and tired of all this postmodernist "you can't judge someone else's opinions" nonsense. I can, and do, judge what other people think, and there's nothing wrong with that. And you're all free to do the same to me. If a person put E.T. for the Atari down as the best game ever, and he wasn't being sarcastic, I know that none of us would hesitate to think that person was wrong. Yet we "can't judge other people's opinions" so we'd all be too pussy to say so.
Well, I kind of agree with what you're saying, that one should call someone out on something obvious like that, but I've had to deal with a LOT of people bashing on the obscure cult classic games that I like because they've never actually played them, and saw they got a score lower than a 7 on most review sites, and thus must automatically be garbage. There are lots of times when people calling out someone on that sort of thing really just don't know what they're talking about.

Also, I think the big problem with this thread is that we're supposed to attach a number score to it. :/

As you can probably guess, nobody agrees with anything on this list, and I don't particularity care, and neither should you. Just enjoy the games you like.
That's not true at all. Kirby Super Star and Link's Awakening are two of my favorite games of all time, and I wouldn't be upset to see them on a top 10 list. Also, Super Mario RPG and golden Sun are both very solid RPGs, and other than the fact the the Golden Sun series isn't terribly original, I like them a lot.

Since you seem to be so sure of yourself, I ask you to point out at what point in my post did I say that it was wrong to judge other people's opinions? Because I didn't; I said that I "Respect" his opinion. The reason I said that was because the member who started this thread seemed to me like he was a bit insecure on whether or not his opinion is right; I was simply letting him know that nobody can tell him what he can thing or what he can't think. Sure, you can "Judge" his opinion, or, to put it in different terms, "Respectfully disagree", which in fact I did in my comment - But nobody has the right to force their opinion on someone else.

That being said, I might have 2 of yours on my top 10.... maybe.

So I give you a 2.

Same sentiment here, I have a very different taste in games than you, though I should add I have played none of the games on your list.

Assuming you score one point for each of your list entries that I would agree with. . . you score 0/10.

I haven't played pikmin 2, but I am fairly certain the game wouldn't land in my top ten, top 15, and possibly top 20.

The problem is, I already have a list of games that I would consider "best", and with the exception of Batman Arkham Asylum which was added to the list, none of the other games have moved in their position in the last 3 years or so. Which means that out of all of the games I've played in the last few years, only one has impressed me enough to be added to my list.

( Interestingly enough, with Skyrim and Batman Arkham City coming out later this year, I am hoping that these two sequels will stand next to their predecesors on my list)

Your number one is Smash Brothers Melee?

??

It's not THAT good.

I'd give your list a 5/10.

Word of advice, there's no need to quote the OP.

By this scoring system I give it 0 as 0 of the games are in my top 10, infact I have never played any of them.

I take it OP is a console gamer?

I don't mix with the like of you *goes back to clap trap PC*

Yeah, that. It's your favourite games. I don't particularly like any of them, but you do. And that's why nothing I say will make them anything but a 10 for you.
But it's not about whether they are his favorites. It's about whether or not they are the top 10 games of all time, and he has asked for your opinion on them.

Asking us to rate your opinion is just asking for people to state their opinions as fact - IMO the worst possible habit you can get into on the internet.

So I agree with the guy who said 10, because no one can tell you that your favourite games are wrong.

Well, those are all good games. Then of course, there are so many good games, that you can hardly make a top ten list that everyone will agree on, and my top ten would be completely different. I for one think Link's Awakening is the best Zelda game - unless the collector's edition counts. Super Metroid would definitely be on mine and at least one of the portal games.

Best games of all time? I'm not so sure about that, there's plenty of time left for them to be beaten.
It's not a bad list though so I'll give you about a 6
