Here's a little something I posted in response to the updated blog post. (Fucking VOLDEMORT?! Seriously?)
This is just stupid. What age was the boy who was ?found? playing Grand Theft Auto? What?s that? Under 18? Well guess what? (This is really hilarious.) HE SHOULDN?T HAVE THE GAME ANYWAY. The game is not to be blamed. The people working in the store that sold him the game, or his parents who may have bought the game for him, should be blamed. Anyway, you can?t shut your kids off from games forever, it?s stupid. If they want to play them, they should be allowed if they?re old enough for the individual game. This is like banning your son from watching, say, Transformers, not because of the epic and enjoyable GIANT ROBOT FIGHTS (yes!), but because it has a girl in it. Wow.

Admittedly, I have exchanged a few emails with her, and she does not believe video games are made by Satan. She is a humor columnist, apparently, and was exaggerating that part.

Unfortunately, it seems that her views as a whole are no less extreme. But at least it's not quite as bad as we thought.

/b/ isnt really horrible, if anything its more tame than any other internet forum, and 2g1c isnt that old, the power five have been around for a while now.

/b/ may not be horrible, but it's basically liquid stupidity. Its main redeeming factor is that it has created more than a few genuinely funny memes. That's about it.

I saw a book once by two Harvard professors that essentially said that playing some video games is good because it's the social norm and kids who aren't allowed to play games at all are sort of social rejects. They also didn't find any link between video games and violence. But a frumpy house wife knows better than two Harvard professors right (sorry I can't remember the name of the book for a reference)?
