I like to play old games. One of my favorite childhood games I remeber was SOCOM. You could play as a silent sniper, picking off guards one by one as you comb your way through the terrorist stronghold. Or you can simply give everyone machine guns (Not Specter, he's fucking awesome with a sniper rifle) and simply go full auto on their asses.
Usually, I go all gun blazing Rambo when I cock up a stealh objective. Knowing that there will be no more advantage to be subtle, I just go out and slaughter everyone. Same thing for me in Metal Gear Solid 4.
Guard Spotted you? Switch from Mk.2 tranquilizer pistol to Patriot. What about you, any Fuck Stealth moments?

Spy in TF2.

Those rare moments when you need to get your gloves dirty, and unload a few hundred magnum bullets into a few hapless Mercs.

Good fun, untill a stray Crocket ends your spree.

All the time in pretty much every shooter i play....

I get bored with trying to be stealthy, and it never works out anyway.

Yup, basically every stealth mission in any game. I hate just waiting around, so going rambo is the only way to fly!

I do this often, don't understand why everyone else runs. The regular revolver is an underrated weapon, not much of a fan of the ambassador though.

That Matrix game where you play Neo with super powers. I was trying to be all sneaky and creep past a room full of enemies, got spotted so said fuck it and jumped out, used my mind powers and pulled every movable object in the room towards me and fired it at the enemies. It was so satisfying.

Had a load of these moments in gaming history. The moment when you fucked up the sneaking around and got spotted, thought "fuck it", whipped out a ridiculously large and loud machine gun and mowed everyone down....

Assassin's Creed 1 & 2, all the Splinter Cells, Batman AA.. I just don't think I'm good at stealth-based games! (the good thing is, as yahtzee quite rightly said, even when you mess up with Batman, it always looks like you did it on purpose!)

Hitman: Blood Money, trying to sneak around to avoid guards and just eliminate the targets can be very frustrating. After about the 5th time of failing, I slit the nearest guard's throat, and proceeded to murder everyone in the level with shotguns and assault rifles.
I always liked how you can get a KILL EVERYONE $$$ bonus at the end of every stage.

I actually always try to do the stealthy option first, mainly because you get to hear secret dialogue or see events unfold. But every mission in Assassins Creed 2 is a 'Screw it, kill everyone' moment.

Also in Metro 2033 after getting half way through the level Frontline stealthily I stood on some broken glass. Queue the entire army of enemies in the whole tunnel locking onto my exact location. Survived, but I was trying to get the achievement for not killing anybody. On the other hand, I got the achievement for killing everybody. =)

Happened in Penumbra:Overture.

After an hour of trying my very hardest to be super sneaky and not get killed by the zombie dog stalking me throughout the game, I just said "fuck it" and threw rocks at the thing until it died.

Somehow, the game just wasn't scary after that moment.

Farcry 2. It was possible to play stealthy, but it took ages. A lot of the time I thought "fuck it" and proceeded to throw grenades and molotovs everywhere, raping faces in the process with a shotgun.

Every single encounter in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Except that I charge headfirst into the battle with a sniper rifle and a grenade launcher.

Shit gets intense from there.

Inside stealth gameplay, there was a single moment in a Splinter Cell game (not sure which one) where I had to stealthily complete an objective. After failing numerous times, I exhausted all of my ammo taking out the only five guards in the level in a Rambo moment, only for the game to not realize what I had done. Since it was glitched out, the game autosaved after I killed everyone, thus screwing up my progress.

There are other moments in non-stealth games where I try to use strategy to kill enemies, but sometimes just yell, "To hell with that!" and go Rambo, with a 50% success rate depending on which game I play and the difficulty level I'm playing on.

So, I figure Rambo can only benefit you for stealth games in certain situations, but has a good chance of helping in non-stealth games when you just feel like running and gunning.

Crysis was basically built on such moments.

"I can go invisible, but I also have an assault rifle that fires exploding bullets. Hmmm..."
