Fallout 3 pretty much the entire level of Mothership Zeta. All started when I got my equipment back of my Minigun, Fat Man and Auto Ax.
Heh, that was me as soon as I got the flamer and pyromaniac perk.

I just got L4D2 for my birthday two days ago. My friend and I were trying to sneak past all the cars without tripping the alarms in the last mission. Turns out, not only are you not allowed to shoot the cars, you can't touch them either. I literally said, "Well, so much for that achievement. RUN!" Guns blazing all the way to the safe room on the other side.

I tried this on MGS4 then I remembered how shitty the battle mechanics in the series are and usually got my ass handed over to me.

In every Metal Gear game that I was supposed to/ expected to use stealth I chose not to. Case in point, during Metal Gear Solid 2, when Raiden is supposed to cross a suspension bridge at one point and hold onto the handrails, going underneath it past two guards I opted to shoot both guards in the head. Two bullets, more more time efficient too.

I did this again in most of Metal Gear Solid 4 after messing up my stealth approach, being all silent for like a half hour, dying and having to start over I was like grr, and pulled out my assault rifle and started running down the street opening fire on everyone. Oddly enough that approach worked better.

Pretty much sums up the majority of my Splinter Cell Conviction experience.

I think your game is a little dodgy when running around with a shotgun on the hardest difficulty is a viable strategy in a stealth game.
You have no idea how many times I saved your arse from enemies you hadn't noticed. Apparently the red mist had decended in front of you for the entirety of the co-op campaign.

Mentioning the fact that I was not alone might have made things a little clearer, I admit.

Not sure if this counts, but for me it's Supreme Commander.

I'm all for strategy and tactics, but sometimes I just go "F*CK IT!" and build a shit ton of experimentals and let the lead fly.

im normally the oposite, i choose a stealthy approach in a non-stealthy game so most of the time it involves me going fuck ill go rambo because the game doesnt promote stealth

but one time i was on operation flashpoint (the one on PS3) on CO-OP with a freind and we had to sneak into an oil refinery unseen and plant a bomb then GTFO. i done it ok on the campaign but somehow it was alot harsher on co-op so me and my friend were sneaking through bushes. i had the unnerving task of sneaking in to disable the bomb while my freind watched over me and kept me informed of oncoming enemies. we had left our 2 AI team mates miles away as they are completly useless but they got spotted and the alarm was alerted to me and my freind. the alarm was raised and they got a jeep with a 50.cal machine gun. i threw a smoke at the jeep and killed everyone on baord before hijacking it. i got out with serious wounds to the legs and arms, so i limped in guns blazing (with no accuracy what so ever) planted the bomb and drove to a checkpoint so fast that the AT gunners couldnt hit my jeep

i find myself having a lot of issues with the Hitman games, since i'm more of a spur-of-the-moment guy, and i can't figure the stealth. whenever i get fed up, i find a nice cathartic solution is to turn on god mode and blast the compound apart. i don't save of course, i try again later, but it's very satisfying on the maze-like levels that game throws about.

Well in MGS3 the bit where you climb up the mountain I decided to climb it by blasting every soldier off the thing with a shotgun on my way up. That and running around with the Patriot.

Funny how often Hitman is mentioned. Definitely condusive to Rambo moments amidst a stealth backdrop. I was infiltrating the opera theatre in Blood Money and somehow my cover got blown and I wound up bloody and full of holes nearly dead after having a shoot out with 30 people in the backrooms. Couldn't believe I survived. That was pretty epic.

Splinter Cell: Conviction. All the time.

Ironically, it tends to work better than the stealth.

This happens to me every five minutes in Killzone 2. I'm slogging through the campaign on elite, and my, oh my is it annoying. However, whenever the conventional shooting or stealthing stops working, I break out the crazy knife spree. Fun if it fails, hilariously satisfying if it works.

Hitman, when I realize I fuck up something when I'm trying to go for perfect rating.

I like to have a little cathartic violence between trying again.
Also fun because the Rambo method CAN work, but its not always as fun
