Missed my Bus, (First time taking it in morning due to having no other alternative mode of transportation to school) I had no clue where the bus stop was so I took a shot in the dark and I missed. Now I get sick now and then sometimes a stomach problem (the shits or throwing up) and I stay home, but the rule here is you can only miss 13 days in a full year class and 6 in a half year class. And if you want to stay home past that you need doctors notes. I'm not rich and I can't go to the doctors every time I feel down. Sometimes my problem is I just don't have the energy or just have an off day. The doctor would not be able to do anything so why should i waste my money bothering with mundane shit. (I know insurance but I don't have it) Why would a school enact such a stupid rule. It just hurts people, if kids want to skip they are sure as fuck going to skip. I know many of my friends from around the country can miss school almost as much as they want (they must make it all up) but they still can miss it. Why the hell would a school think this is a good idea?
You're in high school I'm guessing? Most colleges and universities I've heard of don't have this. It's an attendance policy to more than likely threaten kids with poor grades if they don't do what they're told like in this case staying in school.
It is possible if you live in a large city area the school is doing this to have less kids on the street during the morning/afternoon as alot of kids fake sick to get out of school or just don't show up. (Usually afterwards getting into trouble, not saying you're that way though.)
Yeah, lol the bus part gave it away. I could see if it was a college, that is much more important due to you're an adult at that time and are considered to handle your problems. The fact is I'm in high school and I never skipped due to enjoyment reasons. The thing is I never have done anything wrong in my entire school history, I think they should cut me some slack but no that would be unfair. I hate fucking equality I have done nothing wrong so I needed to be treated as a criminal?
Safest way to deal with a large group of people is to assume they'll act like criminals. I've always said school was more of an institution than people would like to admit. Then again I did call my Principal a warden once and he laughed and said back in your cell.
If they ask why you weren't able to get to class tell them you weren't feeling well and therefore couldn't drive to the doctor because you didn't trust your driving skills while sick. (IE throwing up, etc.) Parents are at work so they can't take you.
I had to get a doctor's note for work once, went in the waiting room to see a doctor and apparently they had people there that had been waiting since 9am that morning. (It was 11 at night at the time.) So I just told work the hospital was too full. I'm guessing you don't have any friends you could get a lift with?
