This was actually debunked. It was an experiment to see how fast a piece of false information could be spread mouth to mouth. How do I know this?

It was a question in BUZZ ;|

Elephants have a five foot long Penis

It's impossible to lick your elbow, more than 70% (I think, I might be wrong) of people who read this will attempt to do so. I know I did

Again on the subjects of Elephants, Due to poaching the elephant family structure which helps their healthy mental development has been shattered for many of the species. In Africa, some of these elephants, mostly males, have become enraged, and travel into human villages at night were they will pin down and rip apart humans (In other words, Elephants have become Batman)

43. Shakespeare invented the words "assassination" and "bump".
Untrue, the word assassin comes from the old arabian faction the hashashins who were used to subtly prevent wars. For example the tent of a warmongering leader was broken into while he slept and a note left saying "We have power over you" or words to that effect. That is the origin of the word assassin, unless shakespeare just came up with the noun TO assassinate?

The spiders thing is also untrue, it was told to scare people.

On nuclear waste bunkers, buried deep under the earth until the dangerous chemicals half life runs out (in about 2000 years) there are signs. These signs are meant to warn people NEVER EVER to dig up these concrete tombs EVER as the dangerous chemcials are harmfull to people and the surrounding wildlife. However people do not know what to write. What message could very clearly say STAY AWAY for 2000 years allowing for language changes? The egyptions failed, everything about curses and death didnt stop people from looking. Skulls and bones may make people think it is a tomb. People are unsure what to write to last 2000 years.

OT: If you lined everyone in China up in one big line, and walked along the line, you would never reach the end because of the rate of birth in the country.

Anything that didn't fall into the first four was made of Ether.

63. "Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt". daydreamt outdreamt redreamt undreamt

75. A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours. Can be several years

76. A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds. David Buchan challenges this fact.
Article was on TV & published in "The Times" here in the UK on 1st October 2003 that they have a memory span of up to 3 months (& can tell the time!). Story is listed in the Times news archive (but you need to register to view), so here's a link to the same info: Memory like a goldfish? 77. A dime has 118 ridges around the edge. Just a flat out myth

78. It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open. Mythbusters disproved this one

152. If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

This has been disproved

161. The nursery rhyme "Ring Around the Rosey" is a rhyme about the Black Plague. Infected people with the plague would get red circular sores ("Ring around the Rosey"), these sores would smell very badly so common folks would put flowers on their bodies (inconspicuously), so that it would cover the smell of the sores ("a pocket full of posies"). Furthermore, people who died from the plague would be burned so as to reduce the possible spread of the disease ("ashes, ashes, we all fall down").

Nope

171. In ancient England a person could not have sex unless you had consent of the King (unless you were in the Royal Family). When anyone wanted to have a baby, they got consent of the King, the King gave them a placard that they hung on their door while they were having sex. The placard had F.*.*.*. ( Fornication Under Consent of the King) on it. Now you know where that WORD came from. The Dan challenges this. He says,
I believe this to be, UNTRUE

In early American HIstory, the practice of placing a person in the STOCKS, was accompanied by a plaque placed above their heads, stating the reason this person is being punished. If a person stole a horse, the sign would read: Joe Smith is being punished For Stealing a Horse.

so, if a person had sex, with someone they weren't supposed to, it would read: Joe Smith is being punished For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, or F.U.C.K.

some possible corrections:

#48--North America and South America do not follow this rule
#176--i'm not entirely sure on this one, but i belive the origin of saying "bless you" when someone sneezes is because sneezing was thought to be a sign of the devil or a demon inhabiting someone. by saying "bless you" you were literally blessing them, and wishing for them to get rid of the demon in them
#187--i meant while sneezing, and if so this was disproven by mythbusters when they had someone sneeze and hold their eyess open. you can find it on youtube i'm sure

actually, people said "bless you" as in "bless your soul" as in "You have just sneezed and that is a sign of the Black Plague. Bless your soul for you are about to die."
