"I summoned all of you here to speak about the preservation of our race. The number of Wolf fatalities has been in the rise and if we don't do something about it the vamps aren't going to stop until all of us are dead. You Lyon I summoned more for advice though your claws would be appreciated when the fighting does happen and it will inevitably happen rest assured. We also need to remember that young wolves are most often dumb and drunk with their newfound power I'm sure we all remember what it was like when we where first turned. We have to keep an eye on the younger race as I know it was a young one that got so close to the vampire fortress and their ice queen dealt with him."

"A question if I may?" Curtis asked, nodding to William. "I'm not too familiar with the area surrounding the vampire fortress, but I do know that there is a den nearby. Who is the alpha? Shouldn't they have been teaching the pups caution?" He knew that some who where newly turned would not listen to others, but if that young brother died because of the incompetence of his alpha, that was unforgiveable.

Alexander calmed down and sat down. It was becoming readily apparent that his idea's wouldn't be put into consideration now. He would agree to sit and let the vampires sit and fill themselfs with pride, only so he could viciously rip it away from them, sending as many to hell as he could. Besides, at least the meeting had started...

In the mean time he watched as curtis tried to dig for information, not because he was interested in the alpha of that pack but because he wanted to keep up on the conversation in case it moved to a topic hhe could get behind.

Tim had found the invitation at his flat, Seeing a chance to interact with his fellow vampires and gain knowledge of his kind he packed a light bag and headed for Melianara's court. He turned up late. Getting lost on the way there. When he arrived he found that Melianara had already begun addressing others. Tim slipped into the back of the court, keeping his head down and being as quiet as possible.

*Lyon smiled. She was a little happy that someone cared about the future of werewolves, even if she felt distanced from the others.*

"I'll gladly offer any advice I can William. I haven't fought in some time, but if it comes to it, I'll gladly crush vampire skulls and rip their bodies apart."

*Lyon thought about the young werewolves. They always wanted to prove themselves in some way, to gain the respect of the older werewolves.*

"Yes, it's probably for the best if we can control them in some way. At least, so they don't do anything stupid." *She said to William, then another werewolf asked a question about the den close to Melianara's fortress.

*Lyon turned to him.*

"The area around Melianara's fortress is mostly forests. I haven't met the alpha, but I'm sure he's competent or he wouldn't be the alpha. I was there this night and I heard several werewolves. They wouldn't follow an alpha, if they didn't think he was good. They would find another one to take his place. But if you doubt this. I suggest you go there yourself and check."

-=January 1917 - British Frontline Trenches - Somewhere on the French border=-
As the aura of the new vampire grew stronger, Vincent stalked the trenches to a dugout in which rested three British soldiers - A Captain, A Lieutenant, and a Private, by their insignias. Deciding that the captain looked most appetising, Vincent leaned in close, and feasted, revelling in the pleasure of the kill. As he drained the last dregs of the unfortunate Catpain's blood, Vincent felt the aura growing stronger. Standing up, he wiped his mouth, licked his lips, and stepped back out of the dugout, leaving the Lieutenant and his subordinate to deal with the body - they would have had plenty of practice. Walking out of the dugout, Vincent felt an unnatural chill in the air.

-=Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen=-
Vincent was snapped out of his thoughts by the sudden appearence of a tall, pale figure whom he assumed to be the 'Melianara' to whom they had all been summoned. She briefly explained the situation, including the reasons for the werewolf's corpse, to which Vincent replied, in a tone bordering on sarcasm. "Oh, I see. I thought it was just tasteful decoration, to show of your prowess"
As Vincent finished his statement, the door to the room creaked open, and a tall, long-haired figure entered, looking somewhat embarrassed. Vincent couldn't help but chuckle as the Vampire, who couldn't have been embraced any more than a couple of decades ago, strolled into the room and took a seat, showing no deference whatsoever to his seniors, let alone the Queen herself. As the new Vampire settled into a seat, Vincent glanced once more at Catherine. "I must stop glancing like that, she must have noticed", he thought to himself, and turned his attention back to the not-so-imposing figure of the Queen...

did anyone get the Blackadder reference in my first WWI post?

Can't get a reference to something I haven't seen. Curse my being American.

Mel glared sharply at Vincent. If she hadn't had something else on her mind, or a couple somethings, she would have taken up with what he said. But she continued speaking. "Unlike certain vampires, I do understand some level of restraint. I don't show off my skills just for the sake of doing so. And if you had wanted a drink, I have every kind of drink imaginable. All you need to do is ask, instead of simply bringing in your own drinks. However, as I was saying, before your snide remark, we have an issue with the wolves getting in too close. We can't attack the werewolf base directly, of course. That would be suicidal. But I am declaring open season on werewolves. If you see one, kill it. There is no longer any reasoning with them. They will definitely do the same to us, now."

"So why bring us here? I'm sure all of this could be fit in a very formal and lengthy letter." Nope, still an Ice Queen... "And I'm sure you do have all sorts of things hidden away here. But you weren't here to provide them and I'm sure I would have had to kill a couple of guards who think they're too good to get us drinks. You wouldn't want more than one dead body in here staining the lovely carpet, would you mi'lady?~"

Catherine laughed to herself as she noticed Vincent glancing her way, and discreetly bringing her hair to one side, tilting her head. A small grin played across her face as she noticed another vampire enter the room, probably even worse dressed than Ernst. Easy to tell a vampire's age by their clothing. So many choices...

She took a second to evaluate her own choice of clothing. She was wearing a corset over a short lolita dress that came down above her knees, and a pair or high boots. The dress was long sleeved, but the top part showed off her neck and shoulders. A little bit of old and a little bit of new I suppose. What would that make me... Her fingers trailed daintily to her neck, and she thought how amusing it might be to wake up next to something that didn't have a pulse to begin with.

"Believe me, Catherine, I do not want to have more dead bodies. And I could have given you a letter. But then you'd be tempted to hunt down werewolves despite my orders to abstain from actively hunting them, thinking I wouldn't notice." She stared into Catherine's eyes, her own gaze icy and piercing. "I notice anything you vampires do, even if I don't comment on it. As for drinks, if any of you bothered asking, you'd realize it's an open cellar. Catherine, I want to speak to you alone after this meeting is over." She finally broke off her gaze, addressing the other vampires. "Catherine, Ernst, Tim, and Vincent. You four can kill any werewolf you see encroach on our territory. In fact I urge you to do so. But as this young vampiress discovered, do not take them lightly, and do not actively hunt them. If you do either one, you will be dead, either from that werewolf, or an ambush. Werewolves are not stupid, and I am not either. Do not test me on my orders. This meeting, for everyone but Catherine, is over."

The vampiress stayed silent as Melianara finished her speech, and thought about whether or not she would actually kill a werewolf anyway. If I found one and it didn't attack me, it has far better uses alive then dead~ She flinched under the woman's gaze, not quite used to it despite everything.Heh... this night has either taken a turn for the worse... she examined Melianara again. ...or maybe for the better~

"Come now love, you know I would never go out of my way to kill a werewolf~" Catherine stretched a bit as she watched the others leave. Hopefully the boys wait for me before they start having fun... "So, most beautiful and dear Queen... what have I done to deserve your gracious presence for a bit longer?" she smiled, no sarcasm in her voice.

She stepped forward, then moving quickly, wrapping her slender fingers tightly around Catherine's throat. Vampires didn't need to breathe to live, but they still needed to work their dead muscles with oxygen. Keeping her grip tight, she moved inches from Catherine's face. "I know why that vampiress died. You intentionally goaded her into a battle that she had no chance to win. Why do you keep killing off vampires like that?"

Curtis listened to Lyon speak. He'd heard of her, but had never actually seen her in person. "I see your point Madame." He said nodding to her, ?but I think I shall visit them just the same, to hear what type of 'person' our fallen brother was.?

Turning back to William, he continued. "Alexander is right my lord, we cannot let this insult go unpunished. I call for an open season on the fangs, let us and our brothers and sister show these arrogant bastards our strength. Not push the boarders of our territory, but kill every single fang that dares enter."

@The_Heretic: When I go talk to this alpha, do you want to control him or should I? (If it matters)

"Nothing... misses... your gaze... does it?" she tried to laugh, but didn't have enough space. "I just wanted to see... what we were up against. Are you really so upset... if I didn't goad her into... that... I would have never... turned her in the first... place... I would have... killed her... then..." Oh dear. If only this were in a different setting... Numbness started to creep into her hands. "It's not like... I killed an old... vampire... unlike most of you I'm sure..." From what I recall you killed your mentor. Afraid I'll return the favor? "At least... I have some loyalty to you... why not interrogate your new wards? Be reasonable..." she grumbled, struggling to loosen the Queen's grip.

--January 1917 - British Frontline Trenches - Somewhere on the French border--
Figuring he wasn't going to find out what was giving him his odd feelings, Ernst climbed over the top of the trench and made his way across no-man's land. He keep low as he made his way through the cratered and barb-wire strewn hell so as not to be noticed and was able to make his way to the other trench without incident. He had heard movement out in the waste between the two battlelines but had thought nothing of it, some scavenger looking for a meal or some unlucky soldier how still clung to life. He crawled through the mud and under the barb-wire for the last bit before dropping into the British trench, carbine at the ready. No-one awake was near by, so he stealthily made his way along the trench, looking for sentries. He happened upon one who had yet to notice him and dashed his way across the last couple meters as he pulled out his knife.

The sentry seemed to turn in the last couple seconds, but was stopped as a knife slit his throat and immediately afterwards a pair of fangs sunk into the side of his neck. Ernst drained the man of a much blood as he could and dropped the corpse to the ground. He didn't hear much other movement, nothing to indicate that the other soldiers in the trench had realized what was going on. Ernst let a smile creep across his face, tonight would be a good night for the hunt.

--Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen--
Ernst listened as Melianara expanded why she had summoned the three vampires here. While she was doing so, another one slipped through, dressed in the type of wear Ernst might see at a metal concert. He wondered if that meant he was younger or simply didn't care about "high" fashion as much. He guessed it was more likely the former, it seemed that Vampires liked the style of the time when they became the undead and, while they might adapt it too modern times, they always keep the elements there. His feldgrau coat, so reminiscent of the uniforms he had worn over half a century ago, was a testament to that fact.

Melianara finished with the briefing and dismissed them all but Catherine, the one female of the group, for reasons Ernst didn't know. Not that he really cared, a vampire as old as her was very likely to be all "prim and proper" (well as much as a being who regularly preyed on innocents for blood could be) and wouldn't be that fun to be around. Instead as he got up, he looked over the new arrival again, trying to size him up.

"If you hadn't killed her, we'd have another vampire. We don't need to kill off all our help." After another thirty seconds, Mel dropped Catherine into a chair. "I respect your loyalty. But you need to start looking at the big picture."

Catherine coughed a little and rubbed her neck. "Mi'lady if it upsets you so much..." she frowned and stood back up, dusting her dress off. "I'll actually go make an effort and find someone worthy of turning, instead of one for fun." All this fighting and we haven't even gotten to the wolves yet. And there's no fucking going in either. Lose-lose.

She stopped her. "I apologize. But I just don't see the point in turning someone just to watch them die. You don't have to turn someone strong. But if they aren't strong, don't turn them just to watch them die at a werewolf's hands. We aren't barbaric. We are better than werewolves, right?"

"As my compatriate has stated, we will need to retaliate and keep them off of our territory...but, there is one small problem. You'll need someone to organize them and keep their carnage in line and not extend it past our borders since some of them do not have the control that you all do and since you'll be visiting this alpha...", Alexander said, adding on to where curtis led off, "May i request to be the one to carry this task out?"

Finally, the conversation moved into a direction of his liking. He could be content with this task until they figured out how they would strike retribution against the vampires.

"Plus, since i'll be managing this i won't be able to get off the grounds for long and thus i won't be able to attack either...Just in case you doubt my own control.", he added, knowing his outburst made it harder to gain this request.

Hah we aren't barbaric "Of course. If that's all... my Lady." Catherine bowed and started to leave. At least the undead don't bruise... or do we? So she doesn't kill for pleasure... at least that makes one sane vampire here. "If that's all, I think I'll go on a little patrol. Get a feel for the grounds? Remembering that you fondly watch my every move~"
