Ernst's search went nowhere. He must have wandered away from the two, or they found a good place to hide because he was unable to find them from the rooftops. He was just about to give up, when he heard an obvious howl from one of the alleys. He quickly made his way over to where he heard it and managed to get a sight of Catherine climbing into a window that she seemed to have just broken. He was unable to locate the werewolf from up there though and was presented with a choice: go hunting or confront Catherine. His choice was made for him though when he noticed movement along the skyline. It seemed that someone else had been drawn by the sound of the howl as well.

Well this might be interesting. Ernst thought as he turned to face the new arrival.

Alexander looked around the rooftops in interest, trying to find something to justify it. He found something alright, someone else was ontop of the roofs with him. He turned to the individual and began walking towards them, wondering if this person was a random miscreant or not, siding with not.

"Well, well, who do we have here?" He said, guessing that the man was an enemy until proven otherwise.

"I could ask you the same thing." Ernst responded to the stranger. He moved forward somewhat as the other man walked towards him. This new-comer definitely wasn't human, Ernst could tell that. And he'd never met him before, so that meant he wasn't likely to be a local vampire...

Ernst moved his hands to rest on his waist, a movement that betrayed no aggressive motives. Of course it was nothing more than a reason for Ernst to get his hands closer to his pair of knives. If this man was a werewolf, he'd need some blades to counter the beast's natural claws. The other man wasn't overtly hostile though, but Ernst figured that all that could change in an instant.

Alexander stopped about several feet from Ernst, sizing him up. He looked experienced, if he had to fight him it wouldn't be easy, especially if he was a vampire. He also looked like noone he knew and he had a good feel of all of the werewolfs in the area.

"So, what are you doing up here? Seems very suspicious for someone to be alone on a roof...unless your going to jump off and commit suicide...but i doubt something like you wouldn't die from that now would you, vampire?" Alex asked, testing the waters and trying to see if his guess was accurate, preparing himself for if it wasn't.

"Once again, I could ask the same of you, but I think I already know the answer. You came because of the call, ja? Expecting a freund to be here instead of me?" Now was the moment of truth. How would this meeting end, peacefully or in bloodshed? Ernst would love a good fight, but he wasn't about to get into a fight that might cost him too much. Ernst didn't back down though and continued his slow approach.

"So then, how exactly will this play out? You and I are mortal enemies by nature, yet neither of us have started fighting yet." With these last words, Ernst stopped and readied himself for a fight if it came to that.

"Yes, i wasn't expecting that the both of us could control ourselfs this long." He said before sighing and reaching into his pocket, pulling out a coin. It took all of his will to stop shaking from anticipation.

"Well let's see. Care for a game of chance?", he asked, not caring about the vampire's response.

Alexander showed the coin to Ernst before saying, "Heads, we fight...", he flipped the coin to the other side, "...tails, we just walk away." He then flipped it, sending it onto the ground inbetween them.

It was heads.

Immediatly, alexander charged at him, transforming while he did that, and slashed at his side with his claws.

(sorry bout that, realized how stupid to leave it there was but couldn't get in to change it til now)
