Have you not heard of this before though? They said before the movies were released that they were going to follow them up with new eps on tv... Maybe it's my friend's fault for being so absolutely obsessed and filling me in on every bit of news from futurama (not that i mind), or maybe it's the fact that I spend too much time browsing over my favorite shows on the internet...
I knew that they were going to syndicate the movies into 30 minute episodes with additional scenes, if that's what you mean.

This is refering to all new episodes of Futurama.

No now that you mention it, I too heard that, and even before the first DVD movies came out. It just makes their claims of "The DVD movies were doing so well that we decided to make another season" all that much more bull. It's the Season DVD sales and TV coverage that's bringing the show back, so why lie about it Billy West?

Regardless I am too overjoyed about the show coming back to care much about WHY it's coming back.

No no no.

The show ended while it was still good. Don't let it end up like all the other shows on television.

This is great news. I believe there were like two new episodes on Comedy Central a while back. Then the movie about the beast with a billion backs... about time we got some new janx all up in here.

Meh. The moview were nothing special and unless Groening and the crew really get back into the groove I certainly won;t enjoy it as much as I did. Of course, even if they don't, it'll be far better than the cavalcade of mediocracy that is Family Guy (AWFUL), American Dad (ALSO AWFUL) and Simpsons (MOSTLY BAD).

The DVD special episodes have been a hell of a boon. And just like Family Guy before it, Futurama is returned thanks to the magic of DVD sales.
Now let's hope Futurama stay fresher for longer than Family Guy....or at least fresher than a truck store "fresh" egg sandwich.
I stopped watching Family Guy again after maybe two new episodes. Because the zombie corpse of that show was, well, the zombie corpse. It was after my brains, and needed to be put down.

Arrested Development, Firefly, and Futurama are probably three of the best shows Fox ever had on their hands. But no, we get a million more years of The Simpsons. Fucking yay.

I was kind of referencing what Keith said... That it's a little bit of a let down for me (even though the movies were great) because I heard about this before the movies, and never really saw any result... Though I am really excited if it's actually coming true...

They better do it! If it's based on the sales of DvD movies then I'm buying a thousand of each one just so they get the point =D

Oh my God. New Futurama episodes that aren't just cut-up pieces of shitty straight-to-DVD movies? Sweet Jesus I am happy.

Note to self: For a fairly non-religious Jew I sure make a lot of interjections referring to God and Jesus. Oh well.

See, this surprises me. While I liked the first movie, everything after that just got progressively worse. I thought that it would have been much better if the movies actually continued the series.

But, seriously, wtf ever...MORE FUTURAMA!
