Coming out of my in-house mine shaft in MineCraft only to come face to face with a random creeper. Tried to jump back down the hole, but he kaboomed before I could get away. I died, house blown apart, and the contents of my 2 storage chests spread over a half-acre. Apparently I swore loudly enough it scared my wife in the next room.

The first time I played "Raining Blood" on Guitar Hero III (I'm always expert since II first came out) and that first fucking mosh comes. It's so ironic that the rest of the song is such a breeze.

Was mucking about in Fruity Loops Studio 8: XL Pro and had assembled a new instrument pack. After about an hour of playin' around with it, I had a really great, catchy, and intricate bass with a layered melody. Started adding a basic beat to it and loved what I heard. Went to click "save as", typed a project title, and was about 1/2 an inch from pressing enter on my keyboard when....'ZAP!'....power goes out.

I literally raged.

Taking a face full of KMnO4 (Potassium Permanganate) titrated with 15 molar H2SO4 (Sulfuric Acid) because I poured it into what I was told was the correct 5 gallon waste container when after hearing a loud explosion it was quite clear that it wasn't.

Thank the maker for splash proof safety goggles or I would still be having that effenheimer moment.

Having gone through Mass Effect 1, and half of 2 for a fresh run. Together with a new playthrough of Dragon Age. I got a virus in my Windows folder so I was forced to make a system reset. It's fine I thought, I installed all my games on my external harddrive!

The saves were in my documents folder.

Gaming: I was so close to finishing FFX, I was just a couple of bosses away. But I took a break. Then one day later, I play a little on a different file, just for fun. I enter the menu to save my game, and out of sheer force of habit I accidentally overwrite the top file, the one where I'd almost reached the end. 80 hours of gaming, gone.
Followed by several days of self-loathing. Man, was I pissed.

Non-gaming: Pregnancy scare.

Halo: Reach campaign on legendary and you see a group of elites coming.

This, and at least one of them has a concussion rifle. God do I hate that gun.

OT: Demon's Souls, being backstabbed and killed by a black phantom literally feet in front of the boss door...SERENITY NOW!!!

By best dwarf fortress save was destroyed along with dwarf fortress (for some reason). However this ain't a losing is fun moment, because I had such a damn good location for my fortress.

When I'm playing Harvest Moon BTN and there's a hurricane/blizzard forecast for the following day.

That game is all about me satiating my OCD urges, and a spanner in the works makes me pull clumps.

I think my biggest nerd rage moment was when my entire team died 2 feet away from the rescue vehicle in L4D2. We'd had a flawless finale and a tank spawned to close and wiped up with rocks and one punch while we were trying to get people up. That, and dying on Putricide in WoW with 1% to go. Both instances were utterly heartbreaking

How about getting the last annoying super-rare drop from that unique "Flea" creature in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night to complete my collection of everything anything can drop after stepping in and out of the only room in the castle where it appears for over an hour only to take a break from Castlevania, pop in X-COM, find out that the game needs to make space to save, agreeing to make said space, and slowly realizing I'm not going to be given the opportunity to pick something to delete. The game just reformatted my memory card instead!

Was playing Oblivion, against some boss from a mod. Got down to low health, trying to run away, got it to attack a summons, am right about to heal myself!...and then the world rushes downward and *SPLAT* i got smacked against the ceiling and died instantly.
