He's obviously nonhuman, considering he can survive in areas far deadlier than what any human could, and he can teleport.
Also, he's some sort of living version of a job-finder.
But he's from the FBI, maaaaan!

The FBI's level of technology is at least about 5 centuries ahead of the general populace's!

Did you ever see the movie "It" based on a Stephen King book? Hes a bit like the clown from that, with a dash of Lost, and a result of Gordon's insanity!

If they're that far ahead, how did Anonymous drop their site?
HmmmmmmmMMMMMMMM?

It works like Idiocracy in some aspects of the company's doings. They're ahead in technology to teleport and keep people alive in places where other people couldn't survive, but they've completely ignored the internet.

I think it's the Gman. =/ Seriously, trying to figure out who the Gman is just ruins the series in some way. It's better that we don't know anything about him narrative-wise.

thanks a lot for bringing that image up in my head again.

You're welcome, guy.

Its 3 AM and now I won't be able to sleep. Curse you!

OT: I'm going to be boring and say Gordan Freeman from a different timeline/dimension. Or possibly just a deity [http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQLKIHyITZwkwpVEi88FauWJu8tb2_UauFrn47t60q6cjzQ9xDA] in disguise.

I personally hope Valve never reveals who he is.

I think this is the most likely scenario. He's obviously not interested in the survival of humanity, which I believe is why the vortiguants fight him. I also think it's likely he was, either directly or indirectly, involved in the enslavement of the Nihilanth, which also partially explains the vortiguant animosity (orchestrated by the vortiguant council seen briefly in Half-Life, no doubt). He bears a strong resemblance to supposed nordic aliens [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_aliens], albeit with dyed hair.

I like to think he's Slender Man (if you don't know what that is, look it up at once). He's omnipresent and seems to have control over space and time when he wants to. And his physique is tall and slender-like, but I don't know. Your guess is as good as mine.
I don't know if that makes G-Man more scary or Slender Man less.

And thanks for the Slender Man thoughts. I needed to get to bed tonight...

From what I can tell though, he's definately not human. Something along the lines of Slendy does make sense. Although a little less horrifying (at least at first glance). Interesting idea.
Well I heard Slender Man can turn his tentacle things into anything, so it's possible.

Oh yeah, have you seen the Marble Hornets videos?
They the guys who do that sort of, 'Hunting the Slender Man' mockumentary thingy?

The G-Man is...G-Man...

Solving the mystery would suck, even if it shuts up all the speculation, (OP's take on it was pretty good though) most of which is as bad as those random dudes takes on what they think is gonna happen in Mass Effect 3...

...man I've been hating that game lately.
No, it's a mockumentary type thing on Youtube that spans across 30 something videos. It's about this guy who was making a movie but was haunted by Slender Man. Then he got kinda crazy and keeps the camera recording at all times (presumably to catch Slender Man on film). There's even a fake story behind it, and it's underwear soiling. I really recommend it if you're up for it.

All the exposure to radiation caused Gordon to develop brain tumors and...stuff. G-man, and everything else, is just a hallucination!

Nope. And I don't think I ever will. If I do, it wouldn't be a night. As much as I say that the kind of horror invoke in the Slender Man mythos is better than the kind of horror you get from jump-scares or gore-fests, I'm not a huge horror fan. I could barely get to sleep the night I learned about Slender Man and I didn't even watch any of the videos. I just read abit about him on TvTropes. Dude's made of High Octane Nightmare Fuel.

I always thought G-Man was Gordon Freeman's intergalactic 'agent', of sorts. Puts him in a situation to save the world from tyranny (sp?) and aliens and stuff. There is no way that he could have not known that Freeman was going to flip the entire world inside out, I think he set it all up.

Also, not human. No human could ever speak like that.

Well if you don't like scares then you shouldn't watch it. I got through 10 videos before I stopped because I ruined too many pieces of underwear. I was gonna continue watching it, but just the reminder of some of those videos sent me severe chills down my spine. Plus, Freeman's Mind is better.

It doesn't so much scare me as give me that extreme paranoia. I'm hesitant to leave me room at night. I'm afraid of looking out the windows. I don't even like to look into the dark corners of my room. Because he might be there. Remember, he might only exist because we think of him. Now try not to think of him.
Of course there's always this to kinda take the edge off it.

And Freeman's Mind is really good. I need to get around to finishing what's out there.
