G4 has officialy set our proof of maturity quest back entirely

I'm waiting for the part when I get angry...besides I was never in the comic group really though I do support their efforts. But this is really not as offensive as this one comic I saw where a group of super-heroes had to save this circus from a woman in a strip act from killing the world. The front cover had a man and a woman jumping naked from a trapeze and a bubble in the corner saying "don't look children" as the super hero covers a childs eyes.

Also I'm pretty sure MAINSTREAM MEDIA is what sets something back, ya know where everyone sees it. The EA marketing department are so much better at doing G4's job tbf if G4 are really going for offending a medium...

Yeah, I'm yanking you. That shit made me lulz, though I did find it to be a pandering ad towards kids while the satire wasn't really obvious enough for everyone (some people took serious offense to it). I didn't buy the game cause it's not my kind of game.

I guess I can understand why they canceled Cheat. Most games these days don't exactly have cheat codes anymore. At the very least, I can't think of any from the top of my head.

Maybe I don't want to see us all seen as mature so much as I don't want the "Cheetos eating DND playing fat creepy guy" or "Racist sweary 13 year old sqeaky boy" stereotype thrust back on to us like an old rag full of toilet water, and it seems like g4 is doing all it can, subconsciously or otherwise, to bring that stereotype back at full force and want to reduce gaming as it is back to something considered as a complete waste of time. Now, I don't want to found a nation either, but the anti-gaming people are gonna use this crap as ammo against us one way or another. They'll say it is only for kids and nerds and therefore shouldn't have controversial material in it and will try to ban all those games and we'll be right back where we started.

G4 is what came out of the old Tech TV channel.

Eh.

Not quite.

G4 and TechTV were entirely different channels at one time, the latter being a genuinely good channel for those of the gamer/techie persuasion and the former being the MTV of video games. Then G4 bought out TechTV, turning it into G4TechTV, at which point it replaced much of TechTV's programming with its own. Then, around the time the name changed to G4, they just scrapped most everything even close to being watchable and replaced it with Cops and Cheaters.

They have my eternal scorn for their faggotry.

Id ont know if anyone really looks at G4 as the tech channel anymore, since the last time I watched it, their line up consists of:
-Cops
-Campus P.D.
-Cheaters
-AotS
-X-Play
-Cops
-Campus P.D.
-Cheaters

And witht he occasional sprinkling of Ninja Warrior for good measure.

Some higher-up at Microsoft, in reference to the Kinect, said that gaming wasn't for "sweaty thirty-year-olds in Slayer t-shirts anymore."

Correct that quote if its wrong. I believe it's spot on.

OT: I started ignoring G4 after they stopped playing shows about gaming. They got reality shows and ancient reruns of Cops. They want to be like MTV. I wonder what their version of Jersey Shore will be. Maybe just a group of people in WoW who bicker all the time.

Either way, I enjoy G4, I laughed at this and moved on with my life. And I do prefer the Kevin/Olivia days of AoTS.
