How...long have you been watching AOTS? This is exactly what you come for IF YOU WATCH THE SHOW.

I'm sorry that its degrading but last I checked:
1. MTV still uses "music" in its title, and doesn't aire any music at all
2. Resident Evil movies are using the title but just about nothing to do about the game (Hell, count that for EVERY video game movie)
3. and G4TV still has "games" in its title, but has just about nothing to do with games.

Don't even bring up X-play....until I see more nonchalant nerdiness, dead interns, drunk links, and destruction of everything, you ALL have the proud right to flip the bird at G4.

I understand though, I used to be the loyal G4 watcher way back in the Comcast days when being serious WAS NOT SERIOUS BUSINESS. Everybody smiled, everybody fooled around, loved games, did amateur skits that were still FTW, and you couldn't even tell they had teleprompter. Those days are tearfully gone, and the audience that loves AOTS, doesn't know what they should be hating.

Anyway, I presumed AOTS dead after DirecTV dropped G4TV from their channels. I still watch AOTS when I can, but now that Olivia is gone, kind of the last straw. As for G4TV setting us back, I think this board has shown that real gamers don't care. Youtube comments also show that they either facepalm over it, or want boobs in their face (and what gamer doesn't?)

What the shit is with all this weird "earning respect for our hobby" nonsense that gets thrown around here. I ignored it up until now, but it's reaching critical levels of fail.

It's like a bunch of "indie" emos all got together and are trying to make "gaming" mainstream so they can turn around and hate it because it will be "conformist". All of this "games are art" nonsense, where things have to be convoluted and obtuse instead of fun.

If you want art, go to a museum. It's cheaper. I'd like to play a game that is fun, and I don't feel a particular amount of shame or guilt for doing so. If you do, you should really re-evaluate why you're doing it.

fired Olivia Munn.
Yeah. How could they possibly fire someone with as much nerd cred as her? She's a total gamer chick!

Oh well, at least it gave her more time to red ring her 3 xboxes watching every cutscene of Metal Gear Solid 4, and listen to DJ Chris' Fetty's Vette

All I really saw was men drooling over exposed cleavage. This is something most straight men do, regardless of video games.

G4 is complete garbage, no surprises here. What does this have to do with video games though?
I think they've done much worse crap than this before...

To top it all off, that chick's boobs aren't even that big.
And with this i say: /thread.

Art is fun.

Reading a good book is fun.

Watching a great film is fun.

And playing a video game that makes you feel a little something more than, "I got to shoot this guy and then another guy" is fun.

Shockingly, if you're talking about something that is actually fun, then I'm not referring to you.

I'm mostly referring to the ones who think that the opinion of Fox News on video games somehow translates to a widely accepted public opinion, and come up with all this pretentious games must be art nonsense at the expense of games being games. It's not as much of a common opinion outside of this forum, but it's common here.

If they had their way we'd have a million Heavy Rain games instead of something that you could actually play. It's an all around bad idea.

I thought it was a funny little skit, and tits are never a bad thing.

You seem to be mixing up "enjoying a pasttime" with "a social movement."

I don't see why people are fretting over this whole maturity problem. No person should need to seek justification for enjoying videogames.
Also, "art" and "mainstream" games are not in competition. We can have it both ways.
Just because the medium is maturing does not mean we should cull Call of Duty, etc.
At any rate we can have fun games that do great things we already have some. Though, some is the key word.

On topic this does not set the medium back. Does the existence of films like Skyline negate say Moon? No!
