I don't know what is going on with this forum anymore.
I feel like everyone is laughing at some unseen joke and it's the funniest thing they have ever seen while I just sit here in the dark. I never followed any of this SJW nonsense and don't really see the humor in any of it at all.
Its really weird - I'm trying to put it together myself, but I do have a theory of sorts. It seems like there was a contingent of people who were really seriously into the scene, and they agreed with a few content producers that were with the site. At the time they argued often that not patronizing or emailing advertisers was stupid/useless, while at the same time stating that twitter escapades shouldn't be considered as affecting or important to the website.
Then things sort of turned around, where those content producers ended up leaving through various means, and new content producers with views contrary to the old were signed to the site. So the problem is that these people have already argued against emails, patronization, and worrying about twitter escapades, but they also vehemently dislike the people joining the site. The contingent of people have zero recourse, since they argued against the only options an unhappy consumer has, but they've also hobbled their ability to express their unhappiness, because they've also argued that stuff off site should stay off site. So we get saddled with really passive aggressive posts at a steady stream as they see no other method of expression.
I don't actually take sides in this crap - I think its all universally stupid - but I tend to read a lot of the articles and posts because I find reactions to contrary opinions and adversity to be really interesting, and the recent events are kind of a goldmine for me. Watching people struggle with their own internal views while at the same time trying to avoid hypocrisy and yet still express those views in a way that satisfies them is fascinating.
This will die down eventually, just like always.
