I forget his name, boss of the secret level in Ninety-Nine Nights, unless you got a specific rare item during the level, you were faced with 30 minutes of chipping away at his health, made all the more annoying because he pretty much one shots you and likes to lake leisurely strolls along the beach of invincibility

Actually, the opposite of what's posted here: I hated a boss for being too easy.

One of my favorite video games ever, FFX, the final boss. (I think it was like YuYevon or something weird like that?)You literally COULD NOT LOSE, as they kept auto-life casted on you throughout the pointless battle. I'm big on epic boss battles, and that was pretty anti-climactic.

The original Sonic 2D Eggman battles. They are always so easy, so slow, and always broke up the flow of the game. When they were not easy is when they resorted to cheap instant kill attacks and when the nearest check point was miles from the nearest ring.

Usually end bosses like the Dirge of Cerberus end boss and, the one that comes to mind, Goro from Mortal Combat. That son-of-a-whore had bullshit moves. GOWD! He made me so mad!

Any of the bosses in Prototype. I thought that they were just poorly designed.
I can help you with that, if you like >_>

OT: really HATE? I would go so far as to say the Juggernaughts in Modern Warfare 2. Man to man, they beat you every time. Not really bosses though.

Then of course, there's the Tank from L4D. Nothing makes me cringe or rage harder than facing a Tank with idiots on your team. I mean, Tank spawns before the music starts, and you must either pass a 'trigger' or enter his cone of vision to set him off. You blatantly hear him going "Raaaargh!" and grunting from ages away, and fools run off ahead as if deaf. Protip: Throw a molotov and get some distance..
Oh, good lord, I know. I usually just play with bots, and they just wait for me to run into the enemies. I especially hate when a Witch is in the way of a door or in a tight hallway that I need to go down. And then the others won't heal me until a swarm hits... or they just stand and watch as a hunter claws my tits off.

The final boss on Final Fantasy 8. Ultimecia.
How do you beat her? I came to the conclusion that you just have to get lucky out of all the times you redo fighting her. Or just some really tight tactics. *****...

Demyx, from Kingdom Hearts 2. I guess I sound like kind of a wimp for bringing up Kingdom Hearts, but seriously, Demyx is (arguably) the hardest boss in the frikkin' game!

That tentacle porn monster from Dead Space. Killing that boss on hard difficulty is just beyond unreasonable. I wanted to go out and order a lot of octopus from a local Japanese restaurant and then do awful thing's to it in anger.

On reflection though it's likely a good thing I didn't do anything. Cthulhu doesn't like that.
Are you talking about the very last boss? Right before you get on the shuttle and the credits roll?
Cuz if so its just a matter about timing his attacks, just strafing left and right without stopping.
Or the thing you need to use the turret on? If so then yeah he was tough.

Phantom Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time scared the shit out of me both in game play and situation. I always seemed to not have enough hearts for him. Popping out of random pictures and i'll have to manually aim my bow at him.

The Praetorians in Mass Effect 2 were also bad...considering that they tend to show up at the LEAST conviniate times, are hard as hell to aim, shoot at, and take down, and they have an ungodly amount of pain they can slap onto you really quick. Usually you can tell a boss fight is coming based on the level/story line. Not with Praetorians...they always seem to come when you are nearly out of ammo, hurt, and powerless. and they usually bring friends -______-

The first Spliner Cell, not really a boss but I kept shooting the wrong guy. I didn't think he was the right guy I just kept forgetting he was the wrong guy until around the time I pulled the trigger *facepalm*

The turret one. Last Boss was all about quick time events if memory serves, the other one was about being really fast and gosu with point and clicking.
Exactly,flawless victory lol
That turret one just... made me mad.
Just had to be quick shooting and predicting. Ironically I got that achievement for above 50% shield strength on impossible mode. Imposslble, more like avoid the babies mode.

Most of the bosses in Ninja Gaiden 2 on its harder difficulty.

God damn, those bosses never let up and they usually have powerful minions with them.
Its not so much the game's boss battles that are piss-poor and frustrating, its the last boss fight that is piss-poor and frustrating. It consists of 3 boss battles back-to-back with no breaks in between. So by the end your entirely devoid of healing items and the last iteration of Japan's Suicide Encourager's final boss cuts off half of your fucking health in five seconds. Then does it again. For about FOUR HUNDRED YEARS.

The final boss in Crash Twinsanity, it bugs up on my copy and becomes impossible. :p

Also, the best boss ever is Dingodile from Crash Bandicoot: Warped, because you can just skid-jump over the icicles and smash him.

Shows something about the developer change, dunnit?

Oh yeah, and in rRootage, the whole game is one massive boss fight. No joke, try the game, it's free.

Reminds me of my least favourite boss - Rodrigo Borgia from Assassin's Creed 2. It's a fist-fight with a fat guy! The hardest part of that battle was getting to him and even that was easy. Even the cutscene fight between the Staff and the Apple was more interesting (The only redemption for it was what happened in the Vault, now THAT is climactic).

Side note: I found some of the assassination missions in the Bonfire of the Vanities DLC to be bullshit. I could kill almost all of the archers then get spotted by a guy I had no idea was there, had absolutely no way to see me or spotted me as I was walking up behind them for no particular reason (as I knew all of their patrol routes and which guards were just sitting and watching after attempting it 20-odd times) and have to restart the entire mission.
