In one hilarious instance, a friend of mine saved while jumping from Tenpenny tower in Fallout 3, and his earliest save before then was from 3-4 hours prior, I was in hysterics, he was just pissed

The plethora of glitches present in MW2 make me very very angry at Infinity Ward... and then I play a match with no glitchers and become very happy.
In my opinion, the Care Package Glitch (yes, it's infamous enough to get caps now) is probably the worst, although the one that would put you in an unleavable private match where you earned no XP was a pain too. In fact... The Javelin GLitch was also really bad.

Howdy, escapists.

I was playing Fallout 3 the other day, and I ran into something which really made my blood boil. Now usually I love this game, but lordy is it glitchy. For me, it crashes pretty often. Now I was playing a new-ish game, and I was a relatively low level. I had just nuked megaton, and forgot to receive the key to my new room. When I got back to the balcony, everyone was hostile. Worse still, I had saved as I came through the door. Now I'm too low a level to kill all the guards, and I can't reload a save from before it fucked up.

So, have any of you run into glitches that have prevented you from progressing, or even just really irritating glitches?
That's completely your fault for not saving often and in different slots.

Darksiders- Mask of Shadows glitch. Got to the end of the game and didn't realize that my Mask had stopped working and was unable to proceed to the final boss fight.

In Oblivion I could not finish the Thieves Guild quest because that stupid ogre butler from Casle Skingrad that you have to talk to in order to infiltrate the castle, he was nowhere to be found!!!!!!!!! That REAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY pissed me off, that was my first dedicated file for Oblivion on the 360 that I completely mastered and finished, yet I will never reign the Thieves Guild like I did the other 3. This fills me with Brooklyn rage!

Haha, also Fallout 3. At the time my laptop just started having these Bsod. And during the game it did. So I restarted it and got to play again. For some reason I was another sex than I started. I was back at Vault 101 and all my items were gone. Thank God for the console.

I don't know about you, good sir, but where I come from, I don't expect games to fuck up beyond all belief without any prior warning. Forgive me for not preparing for an utterly pointless glitch.

The first Elder Scrolls installment, Arena, you actually had to have Bethesda physically mail you a diskette with the fix. I can't remember the specifics but I believe it was a straight up game crash upon entering a certain dungeon or area and it was something you had to do to progress your journal along the main storyline as I recall.

Mass Effect on PC. Really, anyone with any experience on this needs me to elaborate no further.
There weren't any glitches which were game breaking in my experience.

Oblivion: I got turned into a vampire, it sucked balls. I did the quest to get the potion ready, but the witch never made it, no matter how long I waited. It wasn't game breaking, but I started again anyway.

OH!
Prince of Persia - Warrior Within: I loaded my save once and I was turned into sand. I know that happens later on or something, but it was completely random, and I kept on dying because my health kept dropping.

Most of the glitches on MW2 could be classed as game-breaking if any other developer but the 'Ward released it. Infinite carepackages etcetera.
