...is anyone else seeing the exact plot of Douglas Coupland's JPod unfolding before their eyes?

After reading all the complaints about 'radical' and the speech, I have to say that apparently most people around here have no sense of irony. Which is rather a handicap on the internet.

As for complaints about the intro. . . it's a style, you wouldn't understand (except for the '. . . live audience' bit, that needs to die.). Same goes for the animation (though that could use moar energy / motion, regardless).

The personalities are a bit flat at the moment, but I think Gary was the only one I found unenjoyable to watch. Time should fix this.

The dialogue needs moar balance between the characters (yes, Bethany's boobs are nice, but she can't just be a static cutout off to the side). Also, work on making it feel moar flowing and natural; it's all quite stiff at the moment.

As far as humor is concerned, none of the dog puns made me cringe, and while the jokes were by no means spectacular, none seemed notably sub-par.

Overall, I stand by my opinion that it's a series with lots of potential and a solid basis. Steps towards greatness appear to be rather stumbling and slow for now, so I think Russ just needs to put some real effort behind it, and it'll be set.

PS: Still better than should-have-been-forgotten realms. Fuckin' hell.

One more. I give it one more episode.

Alright, first off, I don't really like Apocolypse Lane...And I gave that seven episodes.

I didn't even chuckle, smile, groan or make any other sort of physical reaction to display my humour. I didn't find anything in this worth the six minutes that it was.

I know that some people find this funny. I know their are a lot of things I find funny in a similar vein. (The Office, Seinfeld etc.) but I find nothing funny about this. So if the next episode doesn't wow me, I'm done with this series.

That isn't to say that this is terrible. No, it's better then most of the stuff on Youtube. But this is the escapist. And honestly, the bar has been set soo high that somthing in the mediocre to meh range like this just doesn't seem to fit. Look. I read the editors note that was linked here. This seems to be just the kind of mediocre crap it referenced...

Like I said though, not terrible, just not worth spending my time on if the next episode isn't better. In my opinion, definatly the worst series on the escapist.

#1 fan of game dogs
Judging from this thread, yeah, I'd say you're definitely their biggest fan. I'd also say you're pretty much their only fan.

Anyway, I don't really have anything else to add to this, most of what I think has already been mentioned, and probably better worded than I could have put it.

Bob made me smile. Otherwise, I didn't really enjoy this episode, and the last joke was easy to see from miles away. *long monologue* "Yeah, but that's too hard. We'll rip something off." "Sounds good."

It was pretty good, but I couldn't get over the fact that Gary (the little boss dog for those of you that don't want to have to scroll back to the top of the thread) repeated pretty much every other word he said.

The music is so boring.
It needs be replaced.

Actually, this show isn't too bad, but it'll never hold a candle to the Unforgotten Realms.

Radical? Really? I mean, I let bitchin' slide because it was the female dog that said it and HA! She is one! HA HA! Only with a lot less HAs.

This is like some horrible cartoon some 50 some odd year old executives planned out in a board meeting one day.

At a bar.

An open bar.

And the storyboard was written on the back of a cocktail napkin.

*sigh* Look, I realize the previous stuff had bad humour, but one does not compensate by having a complete LACK of humour! To quote Linkara from 'Atop The Fourth Wall': "It got a thousand times better... but a thousand times zero is STILL ZERO!"

decent...kinda...but i have three complaints.

Eyes: Gary's eyes when he was all 'IDEA DOG?!' just scared the crap out of me, just...the look of how they changed, and around 5:52 when...what's his face with the red bandana his eyes went ramrod stiff, like he got his fuzzy ass stuffed and put on display, shoulda moved his eyebrows around a bit on the close up.

Gary's dialouge: We know Gary is highstrung but does he REALLY need to repeat the last word of every sentence? really?

Gary in the Intro: the music and the box panning i like, but cut him popping up to question our sanity, it's busts the 4th wall to bits and gets grating.
