Game Dogs: Pilot Episode: D&D Kills

I give most new vids on the escaist a try, and most of the time I laugh out loud at least twice. But sadly all this made me do is smirk slightly. maybe its because unforgotten realms did the D&D thing so much better. I'll watch it again next time but if its just as bad I won't bother again

The writing is really good. I mean really good! From the trailer I expected a poor script. But this episode proved me wrong. I never was happier to be wrong Congratulations to the cast and to the Escapist and specially to Mr. Pitts. To be honest, I a had high hopes for the show. It reminded me on Apocalypse Lane only without the ugly mutated characters. Game Dogs is not only visually appealing but with its nerdy humor a better show than Apocalypse Lane.

I... Still don't know why these things couldn't be humans. Either it goes the way of this week's episode where the word "dog" is put in places it doesn't need to go and they talk about "the Jack Russel up North", or it's barely mentioned at all and it's pointless.

Meh, I guess I'm just not the biggest anthropomorphic animal fan. Except for turtles skilled in ninjitsu.

Why does Scrooge McDuck need to be a duck?? Why can't he be a really rich dude?

Man, I hated watching Goofy - they'd have been much better if they were people. And Mickey Mouse should have just been a human! A bear flying an airplane? That'd never work!

Seriously, poor, very poor. This trend of pompous oh-so-holier-than-thou articles, irrelevant news and worse animated videos is why I find myself on this site less and less.

I thought it was pretty good. I'll stick with it a few more episodes, see what direction they take the characters with and I'll consider whether it is any good as a series.

Thought it was kind of funny, and Bethany is really cute (in a non-furry kind of way) it's just... Why combine games with dogs? ("why not" is the obvious answer, but why?) I think I'll watch next week too, maybe it just needs some time to evolve. (i feel a connection to Bethany, like the only character I like... maybe because we're both alleged "psychos"...)(again, not a furry...))

EDIT: I also think that maybe you should try going for quality instead of quantity. Seriously, you have like 10 video shows, 11 with "Game Dogs", 12 with TWBB (even though it's over) and 13 if we count the not yet named winner of the escapist film festival...
I'm not saying that the ones you have are awful, but I just think "more videos at increased risk".

But I understand that this is the pilot, so I'll give it a chance. But biased on this alone I think that I wont be following the series.

Sorry but,

- The humor was pretty stale
- The animation is sub-par
- The personalities feel too cliche'

I won't say the series won't go anywhere but this is definitely not a good start. I know an original concept is a hard thing to find these days but try a little harder.

A few good laughs here although it was a little short. I think if this show has a bit of time to develop then it could be rather good. I liked the setup with the handkerchief, seemed forced at the time but came into play nicely later on.

Here's a question: Why is the intro 30 seconds long when the actual show was only about 2 minutes? Are you planning to add a bit more to future episodes? And I'm guessing Gary will say something different every time?
