I thought of making a thread like this after recently finishing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

I chose to give my loyalty to the Anarchs in the end, and when I, in my moment of glory, opened the sarcophagus and found it full of C4 which promptly exploded in my face, followed by the cutscene with Jack... I was simply dumbfounded and felt completely mindfucked. Jack, the likable pirate, the guy who taught me the ropes and who gave me advice and assistance in the worst of times, has played me all along and sacrificed me to get the Prince. FFFFFUUUUUUUU- basically.

For those of you who do not want the ending spoiled, it involved betrayal by one of my favorite characters, and it left me completely dumbfounded. The game had toyed with me for its entire duration, and I was left feeling extremely naive and stupid while staring glumly at the screen. Not in a thousand years would I have expected it to end the way it did.

Now, share your moments and/or endings in games which made you feel like an ass!

A classic. KOTOR 1 ending.
You kill all your Teammates[sub]The ones who would not bow to you anyway[/sub], Betray the Republic, and Replace The Dark Lord of the Sith. You then proceed to conquer the universe
A mix of Badass, and the Game calling you an Ass. Perfect.

The ending of Borderlands as it made everything seem a little pointless.
The ending of KOTOR 2 for being a borderline cliffhanger.
The ending of Halo 2 with it's cliffhanger.
The ending of Halo 3 being almost identical to the first.

Prince Of Persia 08.

Then we got Epilogue DLC, which just left us with another cliffhanger.

And now they are ditching that storyline for the old one. Fuck You Ubisoft.
Agreed. I didn't mind the original ending. Then liked the epilogue better, then found out they are going back to the trilogy to make mega-bucks on nostalgic people.

The Forgotten Sands does look great, but I really really loved the world of the 08 game.
The thing is, I never owned the trilogy, I played them but never got into it. The 08 version was the only one I played through to completion and so I would have liked it to continue.

Even my friend who loves the PoP series and has owned all of them since The Sands of Time agrees. Although of course it won't stop him getting the new one.

I couldn't agree more. And goddammit, I really liked the world/setting of PoP2k8! I'll play the Forgotten Sands anyway, but I still feel like Ubisoft fucked me over.

I absolutely love the endings of Vampire: Bloodlines. All of them! If you want an ending that really takes you for a spin though, play through the game again and side with the Kuei-Jin.

However the only ending to a game that I never saw coming, and which absolutely blew me away though was the ending for an adventure game called The Longest Journey. I wont spoil it with a lengthy writeup, but lets just say after all that build-up it doesn't end the way you'd expect it to and after I'd seen it I was left feeling melancholy and dazed for hours. It's certainly one that makes you thin, that's for sure!

Other than that though alls I gotta say is:

When Imran shot Gaz in COD4, i was on verge of crying. Gaz was such a massive badass in everyway, his Chuck Norris-esque beard should´ve reflected the bullet.

Age of Mythology: The Titans kinda screwed me over, as it ended in a sort of cliffhanger. the rebuilding of Atlantis would´ve been a great campaign.

I took drugs once as Jaden in heavy rain so i got one of his bad endings. Seriously I thought it'd be a bad idea to pass out in front of a muderous criminal

They made up with it with Assassins Creed 2, but then fucked us over with a shitty ending for that.

Also, Resistance 2, If you've finished it you'll understand.
*sigh* I know. The sandpaper bumrape just won't stop.

Tried Resistance 1, didn't like it in the least, so I didn't bother with the sequel.

I almost forgot: The ending of Viking: Battle for Asgard was a kick in the nuts, too. I was like, "So not only did the quality in writing just plummet to new depths, but basically the last 15 hours were a complete waste of time? ... RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!"

I'll be the first shall I?
Halo 2

What the *rude words* was the Soprano's cut to black and credit roll!?

Also Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) got a little undeniably batshit crazy near to the end.

Yup. Gaz is a great character. I think its probably because of his voice actor that I liked him. The way he yelled "Useless Wankers" at someone had me amused.

so you can probably guess I was equally pissed and upset when Ghost got murdered by Shep in MW2...FUUUUUU IW!!!

Those 15 hours were full of epic Viking action!

I fucking love that game.
So do I, it's tons of fun. It's just that the final boss fight and the ending were so miserably awful I literally jumped out of my armchair and yelled at the screen.

Been saying this a lot lately...the ends for Wet, God of War 3, Prototype...those are the 3 that come to mind pretty much right away. Even though I felt all those games were pretty fun (albeit repetitive as far as action goes) when it got to the end, I felt so cheated and wished I never bought/touched the damn game.
