That. I shed a manly tear for Gaz, I loved him and hate it when I don't get to be SAS in multiplayer, because he is "the voice" in the SAS teams.

Prince Of Persia 08.

Then we got Epilogue DLC, which just left us with another cliffhanger.

And now they are ditching that storyline for the old one. Fuck You Ubisoft.
I agree with this. Fuck you, Ubisoft, for ditching that storyline, I loved that game, I loved it so much. I want more.

Well I played Prince of Persia Two Thrones like 3 times because I thought there was an alternative ending...

There wasn't an alternative ending...

Damn you Ubisoft...

PS. Also yeah, Fallout 3. "So you want me to enter that chamber and type in the code. No problem I have my mutant buddy here who is immune to radiation and he should enjoy it... Wait why don't I have the option to let him go? Ah whatever I'll take some rad-x and put on my enviro suit... OK the code is obvious. Can I leave now? Wait... what the hell is happening? no! NO! NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! FUCK YOU BETHESDAAAAAAAAAAAA[dead]"

PS2. Also the ending of the very first fallout was a bullshit ;P
"I saved humanity! YAy! You are throwing me off the vault because I'm DANGEROUS!? Fuuuuuuuuuu**uuuuuuuuck yooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" And than I accidentally used the minigun and ripped the bastard do pieces :). That was actually quite satisfying since I hated the bastard all along ^_^

Those 15 hours were full of epic Viking action!

I fucking love that game.
So do I, it's tons of fun. It's just that the final boss fight and the ending were so miserably awful I literally jumped out of my armchair and yelled at the screen.
I hated the fight against Hel, Though the last siege felt very Black Gates of Mordor like...which was just epic.

Caldberg was the best though, The Multilayered fortress is so fun to attack, and Dragon Artillery is always a good thing.
And again, full agreement. I loved all the epic fortress missions, but Caldberg was the best.

I even liked the ascent up Hel's tower, it was a good build-up... but the battle against Hel itself was so horribly anticlimactic and generic it made me want to scream and cry. And the ending made me think, "What?! Did I just play a game about Vikings or about Native Americans?!"
Agreed, The ending for Spartan Total Warrior wasn't all that good either (made by the some company). There is a rumor that they are making a similar game about the Crusades, which should be interesting.

I want to play Viking again now..

All I can remember from the end of Spartan was that I killed the God of War. The freaking god of war! That was a awesome game that taught us all so much about the Roman empire: steam powered flamethrowers, genetically engineered super Praetorian Guards and of course, the bloody Assasins.....

For me the worst ending of a game was definitlely the end to Farcry 2. After doing so many bloody difficult missions and getting bogged down by crap vechiles and malaria I got to the end and was betrayed by a friend who I had saved countless times before committing sucide to save millions of displaced Africans. Who promptly walked right into the hellish neighbouring country. A stark and grim portrayal of the futilty of life in that contienent but to me it just pointed out how the entire game was utterly pointless and everything I had done meant nothing.

The ending to Dragon Age was a huge player-punch for me.

My character, a female city-elf and member of the Grey Wardens (a warrior order), was in love with Alistair, her fellow Warden and, she later discovered, a royal bastard. At a Landsmeet to decide the rulership of the country, she supported Alistair for the throne and he became king. However, after the Landsmeet, Alistair ended their romantic relationship because 1) two Grey Wardens couldn't have children, and he'd need an heir, and 2) the nobles would never accept an elven queen. He was miserable having to say all that, but he felt it was his duty. My character was totally unprepared for it, and quite devastated, but she determined to keep doing her duty.
The night before the march to Denerim for the final battle, Alistair and my character learned that the Archdemon could only be killed by a Grey Warden, and that the price was the Warden's life. Then our resident morally-grey witch, Morrigan, took me aside, saying she could ensure the Archdemon was defeated without that sacrifice, if Alistair slept with Morrigan that night and made her pregnant. Morrigan knew Alistair loathed her and everything she represented, and asked my character to persuade him to do the deed. This was problematic, because 1) the ritual would save the Wardens by capturing the Archdemon's soul in the unborn child, and for all we knew that could lead to another Blight (the disaster we had been trying to solve all along), and 2) the idea of coercing a man into unwanted sex seemed unpleasantly close to rape - a thought even more difficult to contemplate if one loves the man in question. So my character refused, deciding that she would die when they faced the Archdemon. Morrigan cursed her and left the party for good.
At the final battle, my character, Alistair, and the rest of the group finally cornered the Archdemon and prepared to strike it down. I carefully ensured that my character was the one to knock off the Archdemon's last hitpoints. Then, however, a cutscene immediately begins where Alistair intervenes, saying he's going to inflict the final blow. My character protests, saying he has to live and rule the country. He disagrees, tells her how sorry he is for breaking her heart and that he was wrong to split up with her. My character refuses to accept what he's saying, and tries to stop him, but he charges the Archdemon - killing it.
He dies.
The country then goes on to be ruled by his rival. The games ends with a big celebration of the defeat of the Archdemon, in which my character was hailed as the most amazing hero ever, and Alistair's sacrifice was barely mentioned.

I was livid. I'm telling you, it was the only time where I'd played a game and finished it wondering if the developers hated me. We beat the big bad, and I hated it - no victory had ever felt so hollow. I have to acknowledge that the plot twists at the end were extremely emotionally engaging. But I don't buy videogames to suffer, and this one made me do just that. I mean, the ending to Planescape: Torment was bittersweet, but I thought it was triumphant at the same time, and I ended up feeling fulfilled... Dragon Age made me feel cheated.

Now that you mention it, it was often hinted that it was a shitty idea. Greed is good, amirite?

Ha ha when I realized I couldn't bump uglies with Morrigan because I was a girl in Dragonage.

But at the end of Tomb Raider Last Revelation my poor child mind was shattered.

She 'died'

The ending of Myst IV, anyone?

Even though it was Sirrus in Yeesha's body, killing a twelve year-old girl? DAMN.

strangely, since I played kingdom hearts II before the first kingdom hearts , I was fairly upset when Sora replaced Roxas as the main character right after Roxas went all badass and learned to duel-wield for a pretty epic boss fight, the funny thing about it was my friend was over that day and I mentioned how I didn't like Sora's design mostly because of his outfit and the fact that I had to go back to one keyblade... then I got to the tower and was promptly given a costume change and the ability to duel-wield, Game just would not let me have logical reason to hate Sora.

The ending to 'Loose strings' on MW2. One of the few times I've ever actually yelled at the t.v. for what happened.
Stupid cock-sucking ************ Shepard shooting me in the gut (or at least I think so) then having me, and ghost, doused in gas and set the fuck on fire. I really enjoyed putting a knife through his eye at the end of the game.

The ending to Timeshift kinda pissed me off as well.
I go through all the trouble of fighting the big bad's armies of goons, destroy his walking fortress and kill him (in a damn non-interactive cut-scene). What do I get for my troubles? Time warped back to the fucked up timeline right before the final battle (I'm pretty sure that's where I ended up), fucking paradox protection/defense systems.

Yup. Gaz is a great character. I think its probably because of his voice actor that I liked him. The way he yelled "Useless Wankers" at someone had me amused.

so you can probably guess I was equally pissed and upset when Ghost got murdered by Shep in MW2...FUUUUUU IW!!!
Gonna have to agree with this, even if I barely like CoD games anymore. Hey, at least you got to avenge both of them, right? That's better than nothing.

I'll be honest, (to be frank)the crap and un-origional script is one reason why I dislike CoD. They should hae atleast done something a tad different - both characters - who are voiced by the same guy - are killed:
On day 6, by the main villian, with a heavy calibre handgun shot to the face.

(I don't mind that they're both voiced by the same guy. He has an awsome accent - he should be in more games as SF type people.)

@twistedmic - Its 'Loose Ends' rather than strings. But, I feel strings would have been better.
