You mean the part where the main character is told to walk into certain radiation death, so he asks his radiation immune friend to do it, and he promptly refuses for no real reason? Then the protagonist says "Fuck you all, then."(at least that's what I imagined him saying) and lets the purifier explode, killing everyone.

Somehow that scene failed to affect me emotionally... I'm not quite sure why.
Wait..... what? I don't remember that happening.
Really? It's all here on the wiki: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Take_it_Back!#Decision_3:_Do_nothing.

Perhaps your protagonist acted slightly differently, but it's a stupid ending nonetheless.

Metal Gear Solid 3, Eva's monologue and Snake's resulting reaction is heart wrenching.

Spoiler warning dude. Thanks for ruining MGS3 for me.
The game has been out for 7 years, the world can't hide behind spoilers because you didn't play a game you probably weren't going to play.

Do you think I was angry at the world because I knew the twists in System Shock 2 and Final Fantasy VII before I played them? No.
It takes hardly any effort to make a spoiler tag. Plus, just because a game is old doesn't mean that everyone that wants to play it has. Not spoiling tagging things is a dick move, plain and simple, unless the thread itself says that there'll be no spoilers.
You came into a thread about game endings >.> At that point in time I assumed that if I wanted to not know the ending of a game which was highly likely to be in this thread (No I have not played it. But I know enough to theorize that it might be in a thread like this)

And at the point of "Metal Gear Solid 3's ending made me really sad" one would look away if he did not wish to know the ending.

It just seems like your clutching at straws and making a deal out of nothing. Not that spoiler tags aren't important.

OT: Half minute hero: Hands down I loved that game. It truly got me on board, and while it was a rather simple ending it was still epic.

But other than that I have some weird thing were I dislike finishing games >.> Especially if there multiple choice :/
And then some endings I can just not remember >.>

Condemned 2: bloodshot

The part where the game was awesome for the first 3/4. Then it turned into a trite piece of shit at the end and made me sad. Also, after the game ended, I felt depressed for paying for it
Seriously, Fuck that game.

But, really, the game that made me sad for real, was Mass Effect 2.
Went into it blind, and ended up triggering the last part before I'd upgraded everyone and got the ship parts. Everyone died besides Joker and Grunt. After spending so much time with the characters, watching them die in cutscenes while I couldn't do anything about it was......it hurt a little.

Halo Reach's ending, say what you want about the halo series and Noble 6's bland character but seeing a whole world destroyed all of your comrades killed and then fighting till the end, I think that is pretty sad
This. Everything about that last mission was sad, even the title 'Lone Wolf'. Halo 3's ending too, although not quite as well executed as Reach, was still sad.

and thank you. I will say what I want about the series. *ahem... It's awesome.

Um... spoilers? ¬.¬
I suppose so... though what I mainly talked about was my characters choice, therefore it won't happen for everyone. Besides which, this is a thread about "Game endings" so anyone surprised by the presence of spoilers must be brain-dead, and therefore are unlikely to be bothered.

Wow, that's... even worse than mine :(

5 of my guys died, even though I did all the ship improvements and tried to do all the loyalty quests...
I hadn't looked up anything, and I'd been focusing on a main fireteam of myself, and 4 other chars the whole game, not realizing that EVERYONE would be involved in the last fight. And at the time, ship improvements looked like super expensive things that did nothing.

inFAMOUS 2. Both the good and bad endings were pretty sad. And the ending credits song didn't exactly cheer me up.

I know both of these have already been mentioned, but the bad karma ending of Fallout 3, when Ron Perlman narrated all the horrible things i'd done to people amid the wasteland.

and the inevitable Silent Hill 2s various endings, especially 'In Water' and the resurrection one (whatever than was called)

Portal 2 as well, but that's mainly because i blitzed it in about two sittings, had the huge crescendo of an ending, groovy songs then got dumped back at the main menu with a feeling of 'oh, it's over, i wanted more'

The endings of Silent Hill 2. just the voice over when you see the full letter she wrote makes me cry.
Words out of my mouth. And to top it off, I got the suicide ending on my first playthrough.
God I can't wait to play that game again.

Red Dead Redemption, the clear choice as always. The ending of LA Noire was a bit of a tearjerker as well, even if it was a little jarring.

Fallout 3 vanilla, since it was so unexpected and kind of touching.

Screw you guys, I thought vanilla Fallout 3's ending was better.
I would have loved the ending for Fo3 if they'd have scripted it so there was something put in place to make it so that your followers couldn't come with you on the final mission. Would have made it a hell of a lot more logical.

Do you think people do spoiler tags when talking about Star Wars V in case people don't know Darth is Luke's father?
That's entirely different. Trivia like that is known by everyone, along with stuff like Rosebud is a sled in Citizen Kane and Bruce Willis is actually dead in The Sixth Sense.

I want the fuck out of this hellhole. If mods won't fucking delete my fucking cunted account, then maybe gunning for a ban by acting like a complete **** for days and weeks and making this site even less enjoyable than it already is MIGHT JUST CLUE THEM IN TO WHY MY REQUEST IS FUCKING REASONABLE. I HAVE A SEVERE MENTAL ILLNESS THAT DOES NOT COPE WELL WITH FUCKHEADED MODS, AND THIS PLACE HAS FUCKHEADS FOR MODS. SO FUCKING DELETE MY ACCOUNT ALREADY YOU STUPID CUNTS!!!
Step away from any sharp objects immediately. Try PMing a mod instead of freaking out in someone's thread.

I have to say, Final Fantasy 10's ending was a real tear-jerker.

Though about true sadness, I was sad when Portal ended, as it ment I had finished it, so i was sad :'(

Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption; I wasn't exactly the most humane of vamps. Finished the final battle under New York against Vukodlak, closing off 700 years of rivalry.

Christof diablerised Vukodlak (take that you Tzimisce git!) ... and then drained Anezka.

Damnit, Christof! You have been trying to find Anezka for 700 years, and for those 700 years Anezka has been the lackey of a Tzimisce Methuselah ... and you rip her throat out!!? You utter arse!!

Played it again to get the high humanity ending.
