Heavy Rain, seems like it will be very story based which you can appreciate from what I've read.

Casual:
Peggle, Flower, Flow, High Velocity Bowling, Pain (a lot of girls like that for some reason), Most of the Playstation Eye games if you have it, Polar Panic, Home and its various things.

Disc Games:
LBP expansions/stickers/whatnot, Burnout Paradise, Valkryia chronicles, White knight Chronicles, Hot Shots Golf, there's a lot of them, just look :)

Just because she's an "artsy" doesn't mean she wants to just stay in that realm. You know her best, but you'd probably be surprised.

Final Fantasy XIII would probably be a good choice. Also, Final Fantasy VII is on the PSN, which you can never go wrong with (unless she hates Japanese culture or can't stand bad graphics or a lack of voice acting).

Besides that, Okami (PS2 or Wii) or Beyond Good and Evil (PS2, GC, Xbox, PC) are great choices. Both underrates games. And if she likes art, Okami is the single most beautiful artistic experience a gamer can have. Seriously, it's amazing.

I'd go for Portal. An excellent introduction to a more "hardcore" game while maintaining a non-violent, platformer stlye.

iam also sensitive and artistic, thats one of the reasons i like violence in games. Anyway, if she has a laptop, grim fandango, discworld ( i still play it in dos box, awesome fun! ).

Well my suggestion would have to be Kingdom Hearts 1&2.Sure,getting a hold of them would probably cost you about as much as newly released games. But it is well worth the price.

It's probably in the top 10 best looking games of the PS2.

And whenever a huge region became flourishing again I had the urge to tear up.

Okami's amazing. And easy so... yeah. That game is a window into gamingdom. And a chain and shackles. Because no on would ever want to leave after it.
