i always try to be the standard soldier dude, rather than the "theres someones but, im going to stand behind him and stare at him so he looks stupid on killcam" guy
i suck baaaaaaaaaaaad
1.08 k/d on mw2
fps im alright, but not aggresive enough, to defensive. until the enemy wipes my but with a legion of overlords. but my neutron artillery put up a good fight, took down about 30 with just the 5 of them.
however, i rule at dawn of war: dark crusade

2D fighters, Tekken, soul caliber, dead or alive and mortal kombat type games.

I can do the basic kick, punch combo or the odd , punch combo (I think thats how you freeze the opponent in mortal kombat as sub zero) but when you get into 5+ button combo's I'm beyond useless.

Games like Civilization or Europa Universalis. I love them but I usually suck BAD at them. Oh and the campaign map part of Empire total war and the total war games. I can dominate the RTS battles but not the campaign map haha.

Online FPSes especially big ones like Battlefield I love the feeling of being just one soldier on a massive battlefield (in a game of course in real life it would not be so fun) but sadly my BF expirience ussually consists of run five miles only to get picked off by a sniper right when I finnally get to the enemy base. So its frustrating.

EDIT: As many other people have said RTSes, I mean they were my first video games and I practically grew up with AoE and AoM but that was playing against the computer, heres my experience playing them online.

"OK, yes building some stuff I have my four units here and I'll keep making them as my resources increase, my allies will protect me while I build up"
*Enemy Army plows into my base with a copy/paste army of all the same over powered unit makes short work of my meager army, just to be dicks all his allies decided to join him*
"Fuck this game!" Seriously Halo Wars was full of Starcraft experts who quickly became the absoulute rulers of the game.

I love city building games (RTS games actually) because I love the feeling of creating a large city from nothing and having the ability to create or destroy anything I like in it.

*POWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIPPOWERTRIP*

The only problem with my path to infinite power-tripping is the fact that my largest city to date was in Black and White 2 and it closely resembled a small village. So, no powertrip for me.

On the other hand, we have FPS games. I'm not necessarily bad at these games, I'm just never as good as I want to be. I got to a decently high level in MW2 for the Xbox, 43 first prestige. But I got there by getting on average a KD ratio of 15/17 per match. Whereas having a KD of 15/3 would be much more desirable.

This is an easy one: JRPGs

I love them to pieces and keep buying them (the good ones that is) but I always have issues along the way. I'll find myself stuck on a boss or area where the enemies are significantly stronger than me and I get my toosh handed to me repeatedly until I cry and give up :p

I pwn at RTS's and I love em.

Yet, fucking RPGs are just beyond me, even though they're awesome. Strange, I think.

But that's impossible!

But FPS' here too, not because of my reaction time, just because I suck. [SUB]But I dominate on console FPS' though..[/SUB]

RTS' also, like LoL and DotA.

'Reflexes of a stale Twinkie'... Mind if I use that?

I'm with you, though for a different reason- first person shooters discriminate against people with Executive Function Disorder, which has to do with how one responds to pressure. Bottom line: whenever an enemy pops into my line of sight, my crosshair goes crazy and I manage to hit everything except the target. I'm not much fun as a teammate.

The only games I'm any good at all are turn-based strategies, RPG's, and Guitar Hero (ONLY the guitar).

RTS... I get dominated every time, but it sure is fun. And this is coming from someone who is extremely competitive. I love playing them but some people online are just so good... I mean, I'm getting destroyed in games that have "Noobs only!" in the title.

I think RTS are the hardest online. I loved Starcraft (who didn't?) and online I guess I was pretty average but there's definitly plenty of people who could destroy me. I'm fairly decent at most games in general tho, but only get good after hours and hours of playing.
