RPG's
I always level up in a really OCD way and so end up having HUGE amounts of defence but no attack etc

also, I try and make moral decisions based on what I'd do, but then I always end up neutral and never end up with any of the good powers/weapons

I love video games but suck at most of them. I just don't have time to perfect the craft (or get near the TV when I do have time. I just got Heavy Rain and my boy won't let me near it, so I'm staying away to keep from spoiling it: I think after 3 hours he's easily 1/3 through it).

I suppose my favorite type of game I really suck at is simple FPS. My boy spends hours each week on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and can go on kill streaks with just a knife. I can't get off the first level mission mode on Easy.

I did beat Halo 3 on easy though. FPS that says Easy needs to mean it and offer plenty of save points for me to get through it.

RTS games, I love the epic battles in them but can never manage the fighting, the base building, the upgrading and the stratagy all at the same time. I usually have just a tiny base with a small army and I get my ass positively handed to me whenever I play against my friends.

Rhythm games.

Then again, I call getting through Guitar Hero songs with 71% on expert sucking.
Just go down a difficulty level.

OT: FPS's. I used to be great at them but I haven't played in ages so my reflexes suck.

Strategy and fighting games. With the former I love the tactical gameplay despite my dumbness (not to mention that Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles are simply great games), and with the latter I quite like the frantic gameplay, characters, and music but am terrible at pulling things off. Thankfully some practice can clear that up, though, as I do pretty OK with Noel in BlazBlue.

Totally the RTS. I love playing them, but I get pwned almost every time I try to play.

Its those gosh damned resources.. they are just too shiny and distracting. I spend the whole game piling them up, only to get wiped out but some one who actually knows what they are doing.

All of them...

Been gaming for over 30 years so I am not likely to give it up any time soon. But my reflexes are slowing down and I am losing the sensation in my hands (typing is like whacking at the keyboard with two bunches of bananas).

I just love to game. So I will continue to buy games when they are cheaper (rather than be on the bleeding edge of release dates) and continue to suck heroically at them =D

Not to blow my own trumpet here, but I dont really "suck" at any game genre. Im kind of average at everything, except for FPS. I own at FPS.
I'm on the same boat.

Well, I generally don't enjoy games that I suck at, but I suppose the closest qualifier would be action games, especially complicated ones like Bayonetta. I'm quite the button masher, and I'll often charge into combat with reckless abandon, content with the knowledge that this "strategy" will work eventually.

I love (LOVE) survival horror. Not that crossed-eyed "dual chainsaw paddle, baby!" stuff. I mean the good ol' "long haired Asian ***** and a fleshless stump demon intent on raping my feet!" kinda goodness. I love psychological horror games, especially Japanese horror.

...However I'm scared of my own shadow when it comes to fictional stuff like ghosts girls or a quartet of beady, bleeding eyes staring at me from the back of my dark bathroom.
--Since I'm a pussy in the face of fictional horror, I tend to buy things that make me lose sleep. This is where the "suck" factor comes in, because as I play a game, the more scared I get, the less I focus on my screen and more I focus on what THE FUCK IS BEHIND ME?!

Thankfully there hasn't been a good survival horror since Silent Hill 3, so I'm having some comfortable (if not boring) nights.

Edit: fixed, so certain people can stop whining also my favorite genre is....well you'd have to give me a list of genres for games but if horror is one then horror
I think you'd be good at horror genre's. After all, you did saved the humens from the combines by making fists with hands.

OT: Probably shooters online. I'm decent in the campaign, but put me in the online play and my ass is handed to me every 10 seconds. But it's always fun when you get a kill.

Probably Strategy games, the AI is my ***** but I suck against people. Except in Halo Wars, I owned in that.

Like the OP, I too suck at RTS games, but do love to play them. Also! I seem to suck at FPS games. I don't know what kind of clairvoyance every other FPS gamer has, but when I play games like Painkiller and Doom and Goldeneye and Bioshock I need the easiest setting otherwise I will SOMEHOW run into every enemy's attack. I know this, for I have recently replayed all three of those games, and suck balls on high difficulties without some form of 'god mode' on.
