First time I played Company of Heroes-the sound effects were incredible, the graphics immersive, the units and combat felt perfect. One of the best RTS games I've ever played.

First time I played Warcraft 3 as well-WOW.

The Scarecrow encounter in Batman: Arkham Asylum where
you relive the deaths of Batman's parents.

I just sat there, mouth agape. EPIC.

Some of the awesome cutscenes in Bayonetta, then died because it had a quicktime event.
You and I both.

For me, the ending of Metal Gear Solid 4, which satisfied me entirely.

Getting annihilated in a fighting game. [cries]

Oh, and when me and some friends were playing L4D2 and I left one of the doors open by accident. That was one of the funniest gaming moments I ever experienced. We all had to pause to game for about 10 minutes we were laughing so much.

The KotOR revelation made me do it. I loved that game.
When the mask was removed my face was pretty much a ":O" for about 2 minutes.

It was so well delivered that it felt fresh each time you played through, too.

OT: The ending to HL2: Episode 2 as well. Boy was I mad.
KotOR had the same effect on me, almost, i was online just looking at some sites about the game and then i read "the twist" and didnt notice at first, then went back and checked. Kind of annoying since it rsort of ruined it but it still amazed me.

Meeting Andrew Ryan in Bioshock.

I'm a writer myself, so to see such an amazing unexpected plot twist like that made me slightly aroused and amazed.

Oh, and of course descending into Rapture in Bioshock.

The whole fucking game is amazing.
I love your avatar so much I sat there and watch and was deeply disappointed that it didn't go onto the silver generation ones.

OT; yeah the would you kindly, also getting an S on any level in DMC4 on dante must die difficulty and my 18 kill streak on my first ever go on CoD6 (after that I've be annihilated most times but for some reason things just clicked; was a friends account so I had a few more perks then regular first timers)

The intro to Mass Effect 2 absolutely blew me away. I think I sat staring at the screen, comatose from the awesomeness, for about 5 minutes after it had ended.

The only time I think something has ever really lived up to its hype, to me. Leave it to BioWare...

Coming out of the sewers/Vault 101 in Oblivion/Fallout Triple.

The ending of Robotech: Battlecry:
When Wolf 010 floats off into deep space, knowing his Veritech doesn't have enough fuel to make it back home. He traces the RDF logo on the condensation on the inside of his cockpit. Screen fades to black. Voiceover by Jack: "The future is so... bright..." Screen suddenly fades in brilliant white, and then out with black.

Dropped controller. Said, "Wow." Grabbed box of tissues.

The opening cinematic to L4D2. I let it play about four times before I actually started playing.

I love that rockin tune in the background.

Bioshock really turned it's self around after meeting Andrew Ryan. Before then it was boring.
The word is "itself". Not "its self" and especially not "it's self"! You'd think with "himself" and "herself" people wouldn't be making this mistake!

*ahem*

Anyway, three moments from FF7 spring to mind.
1. The first boss battle. Not for the battle itself (see what I did there? Spontaneously, even), but for hearing the boss music that first time. Massive air-guitar playing did happen that day, oh yes.
2. Shinra dropping the plate on Midgar. Even knowing it would happen, the shock of watching it take place... I had to stop for the day there.
3. Aeris' death. Take point #2 and add the sadness of watching a favorite character get killed permanently...

Most of Bioshock- in particular the few twists towards the end and actually arriving in Rapture. The plan crash was pretty awesome too, actually.

Final Fantasy VII. The ending cut scene as well as 'that one scene' that I'm sure doesn't need explaining.

ModernWarfare's nuke sequence in the first game, now that was impressive. The second game tried to recreate the same shock but it just came off looking stupid. No Russian? No chance.

Devil May Cry 3- he battle with Virgil on the fringe of what I assume was hell. Now that made for dramatic tension.
Also, tied to this, re-playing DMC1 and finally understanding what the deal with Angelo was. I suppose the amulet should have given it away but I wasn't really paying attention back then.

Any of the text conversation sequences in Phantom Crash. I can't explain what the deal was with that game, but even the boring scrolly stuff just made you sit back and saturate in its aesthetic.

Probably a whole lot more but I could just ramble on forever.
