If you have a PSVita you can get both portable versions of the games, I believe. P3P came out on PsP originally but if I remember correctly can be downloaded to PSVita, and P4Golden is coming out soon.
Yeah I realized that just now.

But the Vita is so unbelievably overpriced I just can't bring myself to justify buying one...

It's unfortunate but, yet again, Sony kinda shot themselves in the foot with the price tag.

I mean, even without 3G or whatever, the base price is $250 with NO memory card. And before you start getting into data storage that's big enough to be practical for a machine like the Vita you're already into an extra $60-100.

It's pretty damn ridiculous. Then after all that I still have a useless system without buying games.

I don't have $500 to spend on a system and a few games...

---

I guess I could find a refurbished PS2 and a used copy of Persona but that's still going to be a pretty penny just to try out a game.

I agree with your Vita pains. I ended up getting a PsP last year and while it's pretty much the 'go-to' platform for JRPGs I doubt I'll ever get a Vita 'cause the price point is fucking ridiculous.
But, if you do ever somehow end up getting the choice between the portable versions or the console versions, I'm lead to believe that the portable ones have a considerably larger amount of content.

Yeah, the only game I ever played on a PSP was Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. The game was fun and looked about as good as anything I've seen on the Vita. The graphics don't seem all that different to me.

Thenagain the PSP is designed to give you arthritis in a week's time.

But yeah. The pricing is really what shot them in the foot. Like, honestly? $250 for the console THEN you're going to milk me with proprietary memory cards?

$100 for a 32GB memory card? Do they not realize that on Amazon you can get a NEW 32GB micro SD card for $10? Selling them for $10 makes a profit, but Sony wants 900% more profit because Sony is Sony (or Sony is Apple, either one). Gimme a break. My 3DS came with an SD card in the slot already. Sure, it wasn't a very big one, but at least it was included in the package and I could actually save my game without having to go back to the store.

---

Anyway...

Yeah, P4P Gold is supposed to have lots of new stuff but I don't think that stuff is worth four hundred dollars.

It's a sad day when the Vita costs more than the PS3.

in WoW theres a quest line in the eastern plague lands involving a little girl :'( people whove done it know what im talking about
I'm with you man. It's such a fantastic story that was seemed just like another set of generic quests to a powergamer. The legacy around the quest has actually made me start reading those long text boxes.

Bastion. That choice near the end--I always save. The song afterwards and the actions of the npc's... so beautiful.

Whenever you lose a battle in TW/lose your faction head whom you've had since turn 2. It's really painstaking to make me swear and demand revenge on the faction that I fought.

The ending to Portal 2, without a doubt. Possibly the best ending I've ever seen in any medium, period. It'd definitely be in my top 10 at least.

Just hopping in to say that if you have a PS3 Persona 3 FES can be bought off of PSN. P4 hopefully will come as well sometime after Goldens release

Thanks for the info.

But... I don't have a PS3 either. In fact, nobody in my house has ever owned any PlayStation hardware at any point in time.

It's sad, really, knowing how many games I didn't get to play without having a PS2.

Sonic Adventure 2
That ending still gets to me. Two sides who, not long before, were at each other's throats had suddenly banded together towards a common goal. The line between hero and dark was shattered. Shadow's "death", potentially ending any hope for what Professor Gerald had previously planned for him, along with everyone else's reflection on the situation just works. Even just listening to either of the instrumental tracks (particularity, the second one) for the final cutscene and credits really gets me to feeling something.

The ending for Dreamfall: The Longest Journey despite the cliffhanger (Does anyone even remember this game?)
Hell yes, someone remembers that game. The ending was a parade of gut-punches.

Although in some ways my favourite part of the ending was an unintentional moment. When Zoe gets back home after going through a ton of dark shit to find everything unchanged. It's still bright and sunny, her favourite coffee stand is still there and her room is still kinda messy.

It just somehow brought home how much she'd been through.
