so, you know this time of year? everyone gives everyone else presents, people start decorating houses, and people start choosing "games of the year". so my question to you guys is, what's your pick for game of the year?

I don't have one because I don't have the money to buy any

Ugh, this is so hard. I just completed Assassin's Creed 2 and i completed Dragon Age last month. SO FKIN DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE.

I haven't played brutal legend or AC2 yet. EDIT: or Arkham asylum.

But of the ones I've played my favorite is one most of you probably haven't even played. The chronicles of Riddick:assault on dark athena.

I'm torn between Dragon Age: Origins and Left 4 Dead 2. Both brilliant yet very different kinds of games, which makes it difficult to compare them.

World in Conflict: Soviet Assault - Good, but destroyed the flow in the american campaign which therefore destroyed the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Intense and well executed campaign but a rotten multiplayer (PC) fails.

Left 4 Dead 2 - Is the only game that didn't fail to meet my expectations, mostly because I had none.

Anyway, Lord Markus's annual GOTY goes to Left 4 Dead 2. Ecstatic trumpet noices in the distance...

ARMA 2. The only game I found this year with any sort of real lasting power. Empire: Total War was good, but had bugs up the ass at release. To be fair, so did ARMA 2, but I've learned to wait for a Bohemia Interactive game to get really good.

Oh my god, I can't believe I forgot Arma 2 was this year. It just feels like such an old friend already, I love it. I still vote for Dragon Age though, but it did knock Uncharted 2 back to 3rd, and Arkham Asylum back to 4th.

Although I had the most fun playing Infamous this year, my game of the year would probably be Flower. That game had the most beautiful, perfect and joyous ending I have ever seen in a game, the only one that has ever made me feel anything on an emotional level.
