I've recently beaten The Ghostbusters Game again recently, and decided that while I enjoy the game as a whole, there were only one or two sections where I felt like I was playing what I thought the game should have been.
My question to you is this: What game or game chapter was the most satisfying experience for you?
Let's be honest: killing Ganon in ~any~ Zelda game. For me though Wind Waker was the most satisfying.
Finally being able to kill people as Desmond at the end of AC2 was also pretty satisfying.
And watching the Normandy cut through Sovereign at the end of Mass Effect, and again to the collector ship in ME2. Joker pretty much sums it up, "How do like that, ya sons of bitches?" Pure awesome.
The end of Mass Effect was epic, but one of the most satisfying moments is beating any boss in Demon's Souls. When I beat the Tower Knight, I was like 'w00t!' yay!" and then i did a victory lap of the house I live in.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Act 1 is boring, Act 2 is average(few fun sniper sections though), Act 3 is an hour long "follow the NPC". But Acts 4(Shadow Moses, Metal Gear fight) and Act 5(final boss fight) are fucking awesome and worth sitting through 4-5 hours of gameplay(and 6~ hours of skippable cutscene).
Ok I'm going to do it. I'm going to praise Uncharted 2 for the first time in my life. Jumping on top of driving cars was satisfying. That game should have been more like that!
I found the ending of Metroid prime 2 to be quite satisfying. Mainly because you had to fight two tough bosses one after another, so you felt like a badass when you beat them.
I'm likely going to get flamed for this, but to hell with it: In World of Warcraft, Darkshire and Ashenvale respectively, I just love leveling new characters through those two zones. The over-arching story are interesting (Darkshire's especially), the layout of the zone well thought out, the zones aesthetic both intriguing in their own way, and the music (In this case especially Ashenvale) stunning.
Exploring both for the first time, doing their quests, and just immersing myself in the game remains probably my favorite memory from when I played World of Warcraft. And yes, that's right, I actually read the dialogue in the quests. Believe it or not most of it is pretty well written too! Probably my main motivation for renewing my account when the next expansion rolls around is going to be just to see what happens to those two zone after the 'cataclysm' hits.
As for a more singleplayer experience, in Thief 2: The Metal Age there's a level where you break into the cities main bank. Brilliant! Just the entire vibe of that mission is cool, hell, even just the premise alone is ridiculously cool; You're breaking into the most heavily guarded and most secure vault in the entire city, at night, with the intent of making your way past all the automated sentries, the traps and countless guards, to find your way into the vault itself, a mechanical wonder for its time and place. No one else has ever done it but Garrett, he can do it in one night. Alone. With just a sword, a few handy gizmo, and his bow & arrow!
George Clooney and his team of sidekicks look like amateur by comparison.
