Halo 3 didn't need a cliffhanger. It ended the same way it started, with the Master Chief in stasis. I like the symmetry of that, it makes him more than a man, he becomes a figure of legend. Honestly, how many stories have you read/watched/played that as based around the idea that the hero will arise to face the new challenge and then disappear again?Dr Jones said:Actually upon further research, we wouldn't even get Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls series before it had to die. 2 games came out in-between Daggerfall and Morrowind, so we wouldn't even see Morrowind and Oblivion, some of the best damn games ever!Andy Shandy said:Snip
And even Metal Gear, we wouldn't see MGS2, as there are two different MG2's (original Japanese one, made by Hideo and American (known to be shit) version that was just made to get some quick dosh)).
Though I think we're taking his analogy a bit too serious...
Unfortunately, it looks like Halo 4 will just be more of the same again. Same enemies, same gameplay, same motifs, same story... 343 could do almost anything with the series, but I am willing to bet it will be another humans vs covenant vs "other" story.
There is a lot more I could say, but it would all be off topic.
OT: Halo, Gears of War, God of War, Assassin's Creed, CoD, anything Star Wars.
Not so much "THEY MUST ALL DIE", more that these series have been milked dry. Please, please, please just put them down for a couple of years, see what else arises, then come back to them.
