Ultrabots. It was an old mech combat game for DOS. The scorpion mech that actually was a giant scorpion with a missile launcher for a stinger and machine guns for claws was pretty damn fun to run around in.

Is Nightshade the same as Shadowgate? I remember Deja Vú. Not a great game, but the music was awesome.
Nah, two different games. I looked it up, I've never played Shadowgate though.

Here's another one, but I bet lots of people have played it; Fade to Black for Playstation.
Also, how's about Mad Dog McCree. "Nice shootin, try another one!"

Weird how some titles are mentioned quite a lot in this thread...
listerofsmeg: Rollcage is awesome
poleboy: Know two guys who played Albion zealously and won't shut up about it when prompted.
Susan Arendt: Toejam & Earl, check!
Random argument man: Ogre Battle? Try Shining Force.
DamienHell: Alpha Centauri is widely regarded as a classic, Sid doesn't have the rights for it anymore though.
Eldritch Warlord: Played loads of AoW hotseat games. It gets a bit complex after a while and some units are pretty imba.

For my part I'll chuck up:
Ascendancy (can I get a hell yeah?)
Knights and Merchants (and you shouldn't play it either)
Rival Realms (a.k.a. the AI will run you through a blender, great concept gone to hell, RTS where every unit gains xp and carries items)

Bouncer if anyone else has ever heard of it. Was a 3d streets of rage-esq fighter for ps2.

Killed a few hours and that guy (something begining with V) had horn coming out of his head!

Oh and i swear the main character was ripped off an put into kingdom hearts
Small wonder they resemble each other, as they're both from Square Enix.

Psi-Ops was indeed a very good game, but TimeSplitters 3, less so. Just didn't have the zing of TS2, in my opinion. Plus, driving that cat drove me bonkers.

Anyone else remember an RPG called Arcana on the SNES? I actually got headaches, I played it so much.

Um...no. Trust me on that one. It was definitely intriguing at the time, but it doesn't age particularly well. Wouldn't mind seeing a redo of it, though.

Wasn't Tombi the caveman platformer on the PS1?
That's Tomba. Bloody brilliant game...pity it's one of the few PS1 titles that the PS2 couldn't play.

I'm going to have to throw in Einhander for the PS1. Beautiful sidescrolling ship-based shooter with some amazing music to boot. Oh that was a fun game...

Tomba - awesome game. So much fun.
Einhander - I just played that the other day! (for the millionth time) My favorite shooter, I don't care what anyone says about Ikaruga.

Anyone ever heard of Solar Eclipse? It was for the Sega Saturn. A shooter with this amazing story. It was really tough and really great.

And then there's Commander Keen.

Seems me and my friend are the only ones I know who have Played Bahamut Lagoon. Awesome fire emblem like RPG that sadly was only released in Japan. When he told me about it, i put it on my emulator and god damn, pure awesome.
Bahamut Lagoon was pretty fun as I recall, Ive never played Fire Emblem but it reminded me alot of Final Fantasy 1 and 2.

Age of Wonders and Sid Meier's Alpha Century seem to be pretty well known to the turn based stratergy crowd.

Toejam and Earl now that was a fun, very weird but fun co-op sega game.

P O D and death drome for PC ring any bells
Not heard of P O D but I used to play death drome alot, Something satisfying about arena based combat on Tron looking motor bikes.

Now to add one of my own to the list. I have yet to find anyone else that has played or heard of Rogue Trip. It seems to been passed by for Twisted Metal which its fairly similar too but Rogue Trip had way more character in my opinion. This game was out on the PS1.

Advent Rising, Original XBox.

I think its safe to assume even the developers forgot about this, as it is set up for a sequel, but there isn't one being created as far as I know. It is still fun, but is graphically bad.
Try the PC version of the same game, it took me 6 months to even track down a copy in Europe. That game was years ahead of its time in terms of physics, and was originally designed as a trilogy, instead it just faded away. The controls for PC were weird though, but surprisingly effective.

Besides there's not much that beats dual-wielding rocket launchers or any weapon in the game, although the Psi powers are phenomenal once you max them out.

I've yet to meet somebody that has heard of, much less played, the original Dreamfall. I know that people have heard of it, but for some reason not a single friend of mine has ever heard of it.
