You can't imagine the amount of jive I get from my friends because I played Burnout Paradise to death and think it's brilliant.

"Daaaah, nobody wants to play with me."

ive heard so many whining about WOW. in my opinion, its 1 of the greatest games ever created. they just destroy their lore by allowing people to defeat those lore characters who almost have "invincible" tattooed in the face.

also, many of my classmates hates everything connected to DBZ. i love the series, and they are the manga version of the new york times best sellers. i love the games too, and im sad over people hates such awesome games.
I doubt it destroyes the Lore as most of these guys require multiple high level characters.

Also The Kingdom Hearts Series It rules anyone who disagrees can SUCK IT

I've been kind of a Sonic fanboy since I got a dreamcast ten years ago. I like the games, ok? IMO, the only game that was as bad as everyone says were Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, which I rented. (I don't buy games unless I rent them first to see if I like them.)

Also, I liked Mario Party 8. It's not as good as the originals, sure, but it's still fun to play with a friend. Bad reviews aside, I liked it.

Some people seemed to dislike Tenchu: Shadow Assasins for some reason, but I don't seem to get it. It's a decent entry in the Tenchu series, and it's worth buying.

Final Fantasy VII

Seems like you can't swing a dead cat on without hitting somebody who bitches about it being bad or "over rated". Well I love it, so SCREW YOU!!
You said exactly what I was thinking! I love the whole Final Fantasy series (sans 11 and XII), and anybody who feels the need to voice their disapproval can play in traffic.

Also, I still play the original Pokemon every once in awhile.
Enix doesn't make good games and they never will, you my good sir much like me are a soft fan (square, squaresoft, squareenix)

Earth Defense Force 2017 is good. I liked Fable 2 a shitload more than Fallout 3. The new Pokemon games. Mirror's Edge. Call of Duty: World at War. Too Human. X-Blades. Chrono Cross. Final Fantasy 8 and X-2. This list could go on forever...

Also, the Lego (insert various licensed property) games. It amazes me how they can take something so painfully simple and make it fun and addicting.
FF7 haters know not of what they speak!!!!

I don't know exactly if folks hate this game (never heard much from anyone about it really), but "Shadowman" was a game that I felt was under rated. The sequel sucked on ice.

I must admit, through all its problems and issues, I found Kane and Lynch: Dead men to be a lot of fun. Despite all its terribleness I found the story to be pretty good and had lots of fun playing it in coop with a friend.

EDIT: since people are responding, I think I'm safe to say that mine is FFX-2.
This. Also FFX and FFXII. And Revenant Wings... :D

I also quite liked Lost Planet, and Alone in the Dark (the new one). I suppose I can see sort of why they get so much hassle though, and I much prefer Gears of War to any other 3rd person shooter (since Lost Planet was quite slow at times...).

Mine are 'Kane & Lynch' and 'Mirror's Edge'.*sigh*

Played through 'Kane & Lynch' simply because the two guys are pretty well fleshed out. They blast 99% of nowaday game heroes to space.

I think it's safe to say that my "guilty" pleasure, as far as the Escapist goes, at least, is the entire JRPG genre. Blue Dragon, for one.

Well, I'm definitely not short on guilty pleasures. The vast majority of my relatively modest videogame library consists of the dreaded J-RPG's. I might have to go with Final Fantasy X-2. It was cheesy and shameless...but I found the class change system to be unique and fun. But, I'm not about to defend the game in actual conversation...

Other J-RPG favorites include Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Suikoden II, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, Earthbound, and Mother 3...but those are the ones I'm not ashamed of. :3
