Firefox took a mad turn and killed post, so no long version anymore.

Short version:

Most enjoyed: Skyrim.
Could have been ME3. Not because of ending. Liked better 2nd time around. Insanity difficulty didn't live up to it's name this time around though.

Seeing as Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the only 2012 game I've played, I guess I'll have to say Persona 4 Golden, a game I'll likely never play

The only game I've bought that was released THIS year is Diablo III, which I'm having good fun with. It got pretty boring around the end of Act II/beginning of Act III, but it soon picked up again and now I'm on Act IV and loving it.
Something to note is that Diablo III is the first game in a long long LONG time to make me excited for cinematics. Seriously, I couldn't give a damn about the loot this boss will drop, if it's the last boss of an Act that means a cinematic is coming up!
Yeah, the cinematics in Diablo III are fairly stunning. And I agree that Act II is a real slog (especially after the first time you've run through, when you're doing another play-through on another character or a higher difficulty. Ugh).

If we really have to stick with games released this year, I'll have to pick Diablo III or Mass Effect 3 so far. I've got a huge backlog of games, so the one I've actually been having the most fun with this year is the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, though Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion might boot off the other two once I actually start playing it.

It's kind of a toss up between Dragon's Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Tales of Graces f. Kingdoms of Amalur, I played for a straight 2 and a half weeks after I got it before touching anything else. Tales of Graces f(while not my favorite Tales game) lives up to the franchise within which it exists and is a fantastic game, very fun to play. As for Dragon's Dogma...I've been playing it since I got it on release day. Still playing it. If I go to play something else, I go back to Dragon's Dogma within the hour.

Mass Effect 3 probably. Only just finished the singleplayer actually. Ending didn't bother me that much. I haven't played that many games this year though. Still, there is quite a bit of year left.

Released this year? Eh....Mass effect 3 (With the exception of the ending).
Otherwise, I've been catching up and going on a retro-kick of epic proportions. Found out I loved FO3, and I didn't actively hate Borderlands, even with it's enemies that could resist several point-blank incendiary sniper rifle rounds to the noggin because the number above their head said so, and who tore through your shields like a lightsaber through wet tissue paper. Enchanted Arms was tried and scrapped, as was Dark Messiah of Might and magic.

However, I dusted off the Crash Bandicoot series, and found that it holds up amazingly well. Same goes for Bloody Roar 1 and 2.

It's been a weird year with not much in the way of gaming due to focus on studies.

You know, the only game I've really really enjoyed this year so far is when I went back and replayed the original Ratchet and Clank.

For me, it's Max Payne 3. I just finished my second playthrough last night, and it is rare for me to play through a game multiple times in a short amount of time. It's just so much fun (multiplayer included).

Prototype 2 and Alan Wake's American Nightmare kind of tie for my number 2 spot.

Since I am assuming I have to select a new game that I had not played previously, I'll go with Path of Exile.

My favourite game this year is The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360. It's a perfect RPG in my opinion. Closely followed by Max Payne 3. That is hugely enjoyable if you love shooting foreigners in the face.

I re-visited my nightmarish childhood and played through Zelda:Majora's Mask again. So much fun.
Current gen... Skyrim, definitely Skyrim.

Indeed. Happy to help. Just be sure you get the update/patch. Apparently the initial launch didn't have a dodge or effective blocking feature. I got the game after the patch was released, so I didn't have any problems, but I'm sure it'd be a nightmare without it.
Noted. Thanks for the heads up!

hmmm probably my top two at the moment are:
Journey seriously that game on your first play though wow just wow so many get moments of "happiness".
And lone survivor a wonderful indie game that is one of the best horror games in recent years.

oh and this is kinda cheating but Witcher 2:EE PC but who cares the games awesome even if I bought it last year.

I don't know the only AAA game I've bought this year new was ME3 a game which I would rate as average at best and lazily designed cash in a worst.

Yeah I don't know the AAA games this year aren't really doing it for me this year I mainly working on catching up on my back catalogue of games that I wanted to play but never got around to.
