I'll go with Mass Effect 3 (I enjoyed my ending), with Journey coming in at a close second. I like seeing Journey getting some love!

The Game I enjoyed the most... Mass Effect 3 could be a good choice, but it's already been sai a couple of times, so I'm going to go with Fallout: New Vegas. I got the Ultimate Collection and it is glorious. Punching someone into chunks of meat never gets old.

Katawa Shoujo.
I shit you not. Proof in the pudding that money =/= quality, if we ever needed any.
However, assuming that you choose not to count that as a game (which I suppose it isn't, honestly) then Crusader Kings 2 or (if we're allowed games from previous years) Deus Ex: Human Revoloution, Persona 3: Portable or Timesplitters: Future Perfect.
I really haven't been playing many new games, this year.
And i'm perfectly okay with that.

... I just realized I have yet to buy a game this year... Get a move on arenanet! At this rate the old republic will be bankrupt before guildwars 2 even releases...

Journey or Max Payne 3 so far, they'll both be in the running for my game of the year.

I also played Mass Effect 2 for the first time this year and really enjoyed that. Having played both ME2 and ME3 basically back to back (I had a 1 week break in between), I can see the flaws of ME3 compared to ME2 a lot more, and while ME3 was fun, ending aside, ME2 was just a more complete experience and the gameplay and story felt a lot more lively.

Max Payne 3 - is my first choice for the single player. The mp was a bit to frustrating to me and i`m taking a break atm, which leads to the second game...

Dragons Dogma - This was only rented but i couldn`t stop playing until i had the whole map uncovered. I love the fighting and i got so atached to my group that i kept it the same the whole time. In the end i was wandering around with a level 10 and level 15 mage and i was still able to slay everything in my way (except this mean dragon, the only time i choose to run).

Binary Domain - I liked the robot shooting and the boss fights. The story was really good for a shooter. This game managed to suprise me while expecting nothing at first.

Now i`m waiting if Sleeping Dogs will change the list.

I haven't got much to choose from but it would definitely be the Guild Wars 2 beta (it still count). That game had lived up to my expectation and more!

I bought Just Cause this year, and I could justify its awesomeness rationally, but:

Mass Effect 2 (yes 2), I got it for my birthday (as well as ME3) and I really enjoyed a little bit more than Mass Effect 3, and tonnes more than the first game.

Well, I don't know about all of you guys... But I'm still playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and loving every second of it.

Catherine and ME3. I know Catherine was technically released in some areas last year, but since it was only released in Europe and Australia in February, I'm still counting it.

That being said, the greatest gaming experience I've had this year (or any other year, honestly), was reading through Katawa Shoujo. Seriously, what a great story that was!

How appropriate.

Seeing as quite a few people aren't sayi g games released this year I'm going to say CoD Black Ops since I was able to finally get a working copy again this year and I have found a large group of Bronies whom I have formed a clan with and have a blast playing with all of them.

It's a toss-up between ME3 and MP3. Excluding the obvious... issues with the former, it was a great game. And it was also very fun to play as Max again in all his bullet time glory.
