Gamecube hate?

I don't know about here, but I've read/heard in a lot of other places that the Gamecube was one of the worst systems ever. I recently started playing my Gamecube again, and I personally think it's better than the Wii and PS2. So why do people think it is horrible?

I enjoyed my gamecube. PSO, Starfox Adventures, Zelda games, Mystic Heroes... some good stuff.

It certainly was one of my favourite consoles of the last generation. In fact I still have mine, and it was the system I had the most games for.

PSO is one of my favorite RPGs on the gamecube.

It's not that it was one of the worst, It's that it was one of the worst of the last generation. It just could not compete with the PS2 and the Xbox to most people.

I personally find the Wii to be better than the Gamecube. Same system, glorified for the new age, with internet capabilities and a heaping offering of downloadable games.

At least it would if the system would actually update.

I love the Gamecube. Funny how most of the games for the Wii have better Gamecube Controller controls than Wii-mote controls. =P

It was ok, It had some jems. I still have my gamecube (its within arms reach) but i haven't been on it in years.

I think most people disliked it because of the minidisc format. And when I say "most people disliked it," I mean most people who DO dislike it, dislike it because it was minidisc. I don't think the majority of gamers disliked the system, as it had quite a few gems. In fact, most consider it to be nintendo's last good console (if not the 64).

It didn't gain the popularity of the other 6th generation consoles because it arrived a few years late to the party after the ps2 and the xbox already had a pretty decent head start.
