Gamecube hate?

It was the first non heandheld console I ever owned. I can never really hate it.

I don't hate the Gamecube, but I don't love it, either. Of course, when I used the thing, all I ever got to play was Smash Bros. Made me a little apathetic about it after a while.

The highlights are obviously great but the library has no depth. There are 200+ good PS2 games, but with the Gamecube (like most Nintendo consoles) you'd be struggling after 25.

Loved the gamecube. So many good memories. But on the subject of the PS2, what were some of the good games? I'm ignorant enough that I doubt I could name 10 that weren't multi system, let alone 200.

The Ratchet and Clank games, at least. Those were all PS2 titles. My brain is fizzling at the moment and I can't name anything else for now. I'll probably remember something in a few hours.

Could have been so good, if we'd had the right technology. But it wasn't, which is a shame.

Most "must play" PS2 games that are worth playing got ported to SOMETHING, or were even ports from another system that people did not realize.

Ah ok. Maybe I'm less ignorant then I thought I was.

It's all ignorance projection. It was a damn good console. Has a fantastic list of games, it just took awhile to get itself going.

I'll admit to never owning one, but I certainly didn't hate it. I would play it with friends that had one, and it's still to this day my girlfriends favorite console. Gamecube had some good times, I don't see why anyone should "hate" it any more than, oh, lets say, a Dreamcast?

Like any Nintendo system it had good games. I'm not sure about the hardware being worse than other systems, but I didn't see a difference.

I don't know about here, but I've read/heard in a lot of other places that the Gamecube was one of the worst systems ever. I recently started playing my Gamecube again, and I personally think it's better than the Wii and PS2. So why do people think it is horrible?

You know things are really well when people have to go back to last gen to find enough persecution to whine about.

I only got to play Luigi's Mansion and the MGS remake. They were cool games.
But the Gamecube missed the powerhouse marketing and all the nifty things that the PS2 and Xbox had. That and add that the game library missed alot of big titles and had little to offer agaisnt the PS2 and Xbox. No suprise that it was forgotten and overlooked by the majority of gamers.

I like it better than the Wii, the Gamecube has gotten a lot of undeserved crap from people, personally there were quite a few games I enjoyed and still play today on it. I wouldn't say it's better than the PS2, but it is still a good console.

I actually like playing star fox assault when i got friends over. God I love the mode with the guided missiles.

I loved the system, minus the clunky controllers. I like my buttons to at least try to be uniform in size.

And this is coming from a veteran Xbox owner, original controllers and all.

I loved my gamecube. Super Smash Brothers Melee made it awesome. Plus, there were other good games like Super Mario Sunshine and all the other first-party nintendo games for it. I don't get the hate directed towards it.
