The highlights are obviously great but the library has no depth. There are 200+ good PS2 games, but with the Gamecube (like most Nintendo consoles) you'd be struggling after 25.
Loved the gamecube. So many good memories. But on the subject of the PS2, what were some of the good games? I'm ignorant enough that I doubt I could name 10 that weren't multi system, let alone 200.
Well obviously it depends on what types of games you like, but you have the Silent Hill series, the Fatal Frame series, the Metal Gear Solid series, the Yakuza series, the God of War series, the Devil May Cry series, the Gran Turismo series, the Timesplitters series, the Splinter Cell series, the GTA series, the Jak & Daxter series, the Sly Raccoon series, the Ratchet & Clank series, the Prince of Persia series, a couple of Resident Evil games, four Final Fantasy games, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, all the Nippon Ichi games (Disgaea, Makai Kingdom etc), all the Megaten games (Nocturne, Persona, Digital Devil Saga etc), tons of other great RPG series (Xenosaga, Shadow Hearts, Atelier Iris, Mana Khemia, Wild Arms, Suikoden, Dark Cloud etc) and dozens of great standalone games like Okami, Valkyrie Profile Slimeria, kill.switch, Rez, Gitaroo Man, Kuon, XIII, Freedom Fighters, Red Faction, Disaster Report, Soul Reaver 2, Ring of Red, Gungrave, Killer7 etc.
Clearly not all of the above are PS2 exclusives, but there's just an incredible range & depth to the library, especially if you like RPGs and survival horror. I've probably forgotten a ton of obvious picks in the above list as well. There are far too many quality games to recommend specific ones, but my personal top five is Silent Hill 2, Rez, Killer7, Ring of Red and Metal Gear Solid 2.
