While it'd obviously be great if they're right, I can't help but take this prediction with mountainous heaps of salt.

I'd be surprised if Episode 3 hadn't been predicted by at least one of these game sites every year since the last game came out.

Well, didn't they say a while back that they'd have three huge announcements over the next year? There are still some left, and Episode 3 would certainly fit the bill.

That said, I'm not getting my hopes up. It is Valve, after all. They're like Daft Punk: Great stuff, but a glacial release schedule.

Yes, yes ... it will be announced later this year, then released in 2012.
The very day the world explodes because the Mayan calendar resets.
No no no. You see, the Mayans predicted that the world would enter a period of remarkable change, a dawning of worldwide wisdom and acceptance, sort of like what would happen if Half-Life 2: Episode 3 were released....

...THE MAYANS KNEW ALL ALONG! Their calendar was just a countdown to the release of Episode 3!

Part 1: Why do you believe GI? They are owned by Gamestop.
Part 2: It's Valve....I predict 2027 if we are lucky.
Part 3: GameInformer, really? You believe them? I just can't get over that.

Well Valve did say they were announcing three things in 2011 so the odds of one of them being Half-Life 3 is highly likely, still doesn't mean it'll be released in 2011 but at least we'll probably have a good idea of where it's at by the end of the year. If not then I'll just go occupy my time with something else.

Yeah....I don't see it. I've given hope of the Half Series ever being continued.

Um....They were just making predictions. What the hell does Gamestop have to do with it?

Wait.. So they think Half Life 2 Episode 3 will be Half Life 3?

I'm not getting my hopes up for Episode 3 until late 2012. Who knows we might get lucky.

i said it before, i'll say it again, half life 3 will not be released until 2013, half life 2 came out 6 years after hl1 in 2004 and if you add 6 years onto the last half life game in 2007 you get 2013.

this is good for two reasons.

1.) it's probably a good estimate considering valve likes to take their sweet ass time at making anything (look at l4d they first came up with that early 2005).

2.) you dont get your hopes up thinking maybe it will get shown at this e3 or gamescom or whatever and generally just getting your hopes up to be dashed.

Not gonna happen. Hell hasn't frozen over yet.
Nope, best they got down there was a cold shower.
Anyways, I don't trust predictions, cuz they're, well, predictions.
Could just be a publicity stunt.

How awesome would it be if Valve just sprung another "box" on the gaming world. HL3, HL2:EP3, and Portal 2 all in one epic package?

Scary thing is, Valve would not be above doing that...
Valve releasing 3 unreleased games in one box for 50$? Never gonna happen. When have they ever done that. unless there all short games itd never happen. Valve is a buisness to. People tend to forget that.
3 unreleased games in one package never happened? That's what the first Orange Box was, was it not (plus two previously released games, of course)? Sure, Portal was very short and Ep 2 was only a bit longer, but TF2 is a multiplayer game that they still update for free 3 years after the fact. I really don't think that kind of package is so beyond the pale.
