Game Informer is basically the Fox News of the video game news, come on I thought everyone knew that

They're super conservative? Doesn't really apply.

They have good access, along with IGN. Yeah, they have generally bland writing and often seem to promote division among gamers, but they have access.

How awesome would it be if Valve just sprung another "box" on the gaming world. HL3, HL2:EP3, and Portal 2 all in one epic package?

Scary thing is, Valve would not be above doing that...

I don't think you'll be getting a HL2: Episode 3. I think you'll be getting Half-Life 3. Because at this point if it isn't a full game it just isn't acceptable time management. Either they're making a full game, they're just plain awful at time management, or they've been jerking our chain with the HL2:EP3 nonsense for three years now just to keep us interested.

That isn't to say Valve hasn't given me stuff that I liked in that time.

This is not even remotely true. While the magazine is still a scam helping to perpetuate the trade in system at Gamestop, the magazine actually manages to get plenty of access to the people and companies in the industry. You can disagree with their parent company and all the rest of that garbage but at least do some fact checking before you say this sort of thing. They get plenty of exclusives - certainly more than any website you care to mention. They have the access beyond question. So are you questioning the integrity of the staff who work there? Because that is a very low blow and I would demand some measure of proof of such an assertion before I will give it any regard.

I actually think this prediction is sound. It's entirely believable Half Life 3 will be released before development of Episode 3 is finished ^^

Right, OK, but the article is just a prediction. It's not supposed to based on any facts, it's just what they THINK MIGHT happen this year. So anything in the article clearly isn't going to help Gamestop's(Or anyone else's) sales. Therefore, there are no ulterior motives here.

Valve releasing 3 unreleased games in one box for 50$? Never gonna happen. When have they ever done that. unless there all short games itd never happen. Valve is a buisness to. People tend to forget that.

I myself am sitting upon 300 hours of Team Fortres 2 alone.
So yea, Orange box were just three short games, yes.

Thread title is false advertising. It says "Gameinformer predicts Half Life 3 in 2011" when it should have said "Gameinformer predicts Half Life 3 reveal in 2011". With Valve, those are two VERY different things.
