Hi,
I was thinking about it recently and realized that if thieves, spies, assassins, mercenaries, and soldiers all have their own set of rules, guidelines, or ethics. So then what rules should gamers, who often emulate all of these, follow?

These rules or ethics need to apply to all gamers, and should help dictate how they act and behave.

Edit: Just thought of a good example: If it is possible to cheat playing an online game, then people who want to cheat should set aside special games just for cheaters, and only cheat in those games.

No quitting an online lobby when you only need one more person to start the game.

No cheating in multiplayer.

Auto Aim is for pussies.

Teabagging is only acceptable after a particularly important kill - ending a spree, killing your friend/rival, etc.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

No; shouting, screaming, crying, whining, racial slurs, picking fights or being a child on voice chat.

I would object to the noob tube thing. Infinity Ward obviously think it's alright, and it has it's disadvantages.

whenever you die, automatically assume the person who killed you is hacking, but thats only for the whiny people. sometimes they are though.

Lete speak is Elete. Even though I dont really like now that people who arent really gamers speak it.

(I am being sarcastic about it being Elete)

I personally think the whole "I'm a gamer 'cos I shorten words!" is a bit moronic.

It's wrong when people get killed or lose and straight away think that the game is wrong or the opponant is hacking, but lets face it, most the time it's just that they got killed.

People under the age of 15 shouldn't even be allowed near microphones, not that I'm being stereotypical, it's just that they're all like it.

Every time you die is because of lag no matter what, and make sure the entire team knows about it, because they can help you so much.

As soon as a game is more then 7 months old it's shit, and make sure to say so.

Always say that the original game is better then the sequel it makes you seem older.

"FUCK YOU ***** I'LL ONE ON ONE YOUR NOOB ASS GET TEH FUCK OVER HERE ILL FILL YOUR PUSSY" say that whenever somebody get's a particularly awesome kill on you.

British people sucks, make sure everyone knows that.

The shotgun/rocketlauncher/Bigassfuckinggun is only overpowered if someone else is using it, but perfectly balanced if you are.

I'm being sarcastic
it's funny because my friend who claims to be mature always says things like that.

if you are under the age of 16, make sure that you swear the most, and try to be annyoying as possible.

when using spore creator, always create a reproductive organ, you are being really original, no really, its never been done before.

when playing soldat, make your name, " your mom" its never been done before.

say, "lol" to something you said that way people know you are trying to be funny, lol.

With that sarcasm, shouldn't this be a list of 'What-not-to-do' thread?

To add to that.

If you are around the age of 9 on Xbox Live, that's okay. The industry needs new gamers. However, please, turn your headset off.

when gaming, dont wear a hat, your inside, if the tv/computer screen is that bright, then adjust it, and take off that hat.

Jinx is cool, but it is also just a company trying to make money off you, stick with keeping your hard earned/stolen cash to buying actual games, its all right to buy the jinx gear though, the clothes are kind of a waste, like bumper stickers.
