A. Gamers are divided over lots of issues not just these ones.

B. Lots of gamers don't actually care and arn't divided st all. These just tend to rant on forums less

I think your opinion appears to be pretty closed minded. Also i would lean more towards the latter group solely because multiplayer COD isn't that great to me.

Nope, I'd say that's a quite incorrect assumption. I like neither of the game groups mentioned, though I'm willing to give Skyrim a chance. Thing is, I didn't like Oblivion so...yeah...but I hate shooters.

There are plenty of things I do like, but those two things aren't in them.

Well I enjoy any kind of game that interests me. Whether it be single player, multi-player, console, PC (so long as it can run on it) etc.

I think it's silly that some people actually do divide themselves over what games they play. What's wrong with having a little variety? Thankfully though, those kinds of people are a minority.

I play skyrim on pc and i play battlefield 3, cod, fable, assassins creed hell you name it...
i just like some games on pc better than i like games on my xbox 360 and the other way around...
i want a playstation 3 for the blue-ray and some of the games that im missing out on but i play on xbox because me friends do that aswell... now i dont hate you if you like one thing more than another thing.. i hate you if you cant accept what other people opinions and you hate it because you hate it (you hate it for no reason)... not im not talking to anyone specific im just giving everyone my thought on this..

I think that i put more than 100 hours into skyrim recently, but last night got an itchy trigger finger and bought MW3, so I'm playing that now. Cant we all just get along?

There are far more than just 2 groups that gamers are divided into. Even if there were only two groups it would not be between singleplayer gamers and multiplayer gamers as most play and enjoy both.

It's disappointing that useless threads like this get such attention.

No, really. What's the actual premise of discussion here?
It's a topic that's entirely subjective, yet specifically inflammatory.
So effectively: It's just an attempt to get fans to troll/flame each other.

Mods, please close the thread.

Assumptions are bad dude, people who enjoy skyrim hate every game? since when?
Pretty much this. Lawled at your argument OP.

Personally I am not a Cod or Battlefield fan, but that doesn't make them bad games. Just means that I don't happen to like them. I haven't really played Skyrim so the verdict is out on it...

Gamers dont have cookie cutter sets of interests, I love skyrim, but I've spent more time playing anno 2070, L.A Noire and Terraria recently than I have skyrim. I don't know why people care what other people like? I cringe at the success of Battlefield 3 because I don't like EA, but then I go ahead and pre-order SWTOR. Oh hypocrisy.

this topic is confronting the fact that gamers are now divided. on one half, the multi player crowd loves COD/Battlefield, OMG SKYRIM SUKS!!!!!.

on the other side, the pretentious bastard pc/single player group who believes anything that is not skyrim sucks, or believes that pc games are instantly better, and hate on ps3/xbox games.

what do you guys/girls think?
That you're setting up a false dichotomy and are, on top of being just as bad as the "pretentious bastard pc/single player group," a profound hypocrite.

2/10. Try harder next time.

This post has filled me with so much rage. I shall to try to answer in a cool and calm manner.

First off, not a fact. Your opinion.
Second, I play CoD, BF and Elder Scrolls. Blowing that segment of your argument out of the water.
Third, "Pretentious bastard PC/Single player group", now you're just trying to piss people off, and congratulations, it's working.
"believes that PC games are instantly better" okay, granted, there are people like that, however, you cannot deny that the PC version of BF3 is pretty much objectively better and that's probably where you got this impression from. In fact a fair number of PC games are ported from consoles and turn out worse because of it, having you try and bind controls to joypads that don't exist or suffering ridiculous performance issues from poor optimisation.

Ultimately, I think that you're just trying to piss people off, and doing a good job of it. The gaming community has always had it's separate factions but they're not at war or anything stupid like that.

Why do you loathe the term gamer?
It is demeaning and attempts (and fails) to lump us all together into a common stereotype of dribbling basement dwellers who do nothing but twiddle our thumbs. I don't approve of labels, least of all "gamer."
