I don't know about gamer logic, but I know about writer and narrative logic, such as that the guy who is with you in the tutorial level will inevitably either die or turn evil, with few or no exceptions.
I do follow some gamer logic, though, like that there is always a treasure chest at the place that's nearly impossible to get to, and that you must always cut down your number of enemies as fast as possible, unless it's a boss battle, in which case just try to get the boss because in most cases that will instantly end the battle.
I also follow the logic that, wherever the most enemies are, that's the way I'm supposed to go.
