I don't know about gamer logic, but I know about writer and narrative logic, such as that the guy who is with you in the tutorial level will inevitably either die or turn evil, with few or no exceptions.

I do follow some gamer logic, though, like that there is always a treasure chest at the place that's nearly impossible to get to, and that you must always cut down your number of enemies as fast as possible, unless it's a boss battle, in which case just try to get the boss because in most cases that will instantly end the battle.

I also follow the logic that, wherever the most enemies are, that's the way I'm supposed to go.

This.
..I had to laugh bad at this.

I applaud you.
Lol, thanks. Though as much as I'd like to take credit for this little gem, I didn't make it - just found it, still, gives me a nice laugh.

"People die when they are killed." Seems like good game logic. Cookie for anime reference.

I do it all the time. The headaches come when I try to go against going against what I think I'm expected to do.

Ah, the sequence breaker impulse. Yeah, I use it all the time during exploration. You find some cool stuff that way!

('Defying' doesn't seem spelt right to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
You spelled "defying" correctly. Something else, however... ^_^
'spelt' is correct in a fair few non-US english speaking countries.

Most popular bit of "Gamer's Logic," as determined by the most common logical fallacy to find in games?

"I can screw up all I like. I'll just hit QuickLoad."

This.
Of course, if the guy behind him is also a gamer, he's reaching for the rocket launcher button.
Unfortunatley for him I picked up some explosive bananas awhile back.
i'd worry about the van in back, he might lose but he might have the spiky shell to X3

but yes, i do that alot, wander around and explore, find stuff, and kill anything not me/my party shaped. a lotta games want you to poke around not for any plot reason but the nifty bonuses, be it some game breaking weapon( SotN: Crissagrim + Ring of Varda, just ONE ring) or some niffty little easter egg

Yeah, it's not so much logic as a conditioned reflex that most gamers develop...
The "explore everwhere and grab everything" mentality is something almost every RPG-player pick up pretty early.
Especially when there are tough monsters and such around. The more trouble you have to go through to get that magic telescope-broom, or whatever, the better it must be.

once when i was playing d&d:

DM: at the end of the hallway are three doors. the middle door is locked. the other two doors lead to the left and the right.

Me: I go through the left door and hold down the switch in there, while the cleric enters the right door and simultaneously holds down the identical switch that's in the other room.

DM: >_<

He gave up on including puzzles pretty soon after that.
If I were the DM, I'd make a puzzle like that.
Except when you push both switches at the same time, the doors behind you slam shut, then the rooms starts filling up with water. The key was hidden under a loose floorboard/rock/the doormat just in front of the door. ;)
Death by genre savvyness. It's so deliciously ironic.

Bioshock is very interesting, since some of the stuff hidden can only be found with the telekinesis plasmid.
