And now for something completely relevant.

She should look up God of War. I think she'd instantly go trollface.

What silly logic, I've been speaking English for over 20 years and I'm still not completely sure where to put a semi-colon.
Agreed, and apostrophes are still a bit tricky too with all that "possessive" stuff.

OT: This is honestly just getting a bit tiring, having all the media riding on games causing violence. But it'll blow over, just like it did with everyone thinking people who play D&D are Satan worshiping murderers.

Also let?s be honest, all of us serious gamers are too busy with new releases to go out and socialise, let alone spend the time searching for, selecting and then carrying out a rape on an unsuspecting victim, she must think a gamers internal monologue is "kill, kill, rape, rape". Where as I can safely say mine is mostly "ooooh, shiny things"

She's probably very embarassed right now at the millions of people calling her wrong.

Teaches you, don't mess with gamers, we're everywhere.
Fixed. Thousands isn't nearly enough.

OT: LMAO. Just a stupid attention seeker. Not to mention a complete idiot as well.

This sounds like the latest instalment of the media and ?experts? finding the latest hot button issue and attempting to connect it with something terrible.

The Daily Mail in the UK has been doing this for years- they regularly run titles like ?Facebook causes Cancer!? because apparently social isolation has negative biological effects on your body.

I adored this news story I read that the Venezuelan Government condemned ?Mercenaries 2? for depicting an invasion of South America by the US and China because they believed it was being used to gather support for a real life invasion!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/5016514.stm

Next I?m sure they?ll be able to find an expert to say ?Halo causes War?, ?Mass Effect encourages sex with blue octopus people? or my personal favourite ?Destroy all Humans promotes the molestation and mutilation of Cattle!?

Sue her for what ?
Being shit at her job ? Spouting unsubstantiated nonsense ? Sucking at not being a disgrace for her entire profession ?

Not really anything criminal in there.

Oh come on, it is not like anybody needs to be encouraged to do that....

I think it would be for the best if we ignore her. She will eventually go away. I haven't actually heard of her until this whole "Videogames causes rape" controversy happened. When I showed one of the articles to my dad he said "she is just an attention seeker wanting her 5 minutes of fame. It's best to ignore her and let her fade away" and I am inclined to agree with him. Then it came to light that she was just pushing her book that seems to be about sexually manipulating men, and became more convinced that it was a PR stunt.
Agreed, ignore her and she'll fade away.

P.s. i love your avatar :D

Are there even any games that actually have rape in them? the ones I've played are only implied, and it's usually taken very seriously. In Final Fantasy Tactics, Rafa said to her brother "You know what he did to me." referring to the man that took them in after their hometown burned down. Her brother Malak is very conflicted with the whole situation, What with them living on the streets if it wasn't for the Duke, and the safety of his sister.

That certainly sounds like wanting to make people commit rape, doesn't it? How dare they approach a very traumatic, and life changing event like that with class, and treating it like what it is. A very bad thing.

I'll admit I'm a little confused by all this. For starters, where is she getting all these violent and sexual videogames from?
Other than Rapelay, or whatever it was. But judging all games on that would be like judging all films on A Clockwork Orange, all books on Lady Chatterly's Lover, or all humanity on youtube comments. Horrendously skewed sample sizes prove nothing either way! And a total absence of statistics only weakens the argument given.

Well, maybe not, but you sure do understand what an analogy is.

And yes, she's dumb. There is nothing about her or her views that do anything but spew hatred for the unknown. It's just another form of discrimination.

Defamation in form of libel. She is communicating a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give a business and product a negative image. Libel suits happen all of the time. If she is so clearly making implications this serious, that are unfounded my any major studies, but have been claimed to be factual, she is guilty of slander. EA should get their free advertisings worth, then sue the *****. Case closed

Stupider things have gone to court and won

Would not fly in a German court, pretty sure of that. If for no other reason, than because video games in general would not qualify as a "product" as such and as far as I know, she did not actually talked smack about Bulletstorm itself (at least not explicit enough).
But hey, if such things work in the US, EA should have at her.

So she pretty much goes, "FBI, ShmeFBI, what do they know? I've seen all of these studies about it, and even though I can't name any of them, I know they are right because they support my agenda!"

?Over the years, I have read hundreds of studies linking videogames to violence. Rape, as a violent act, is implied in them,? she wrote in an e-mail. ?When videogames are violent and sexual, it causes the players to become desensitized to rape and think it is a ?game.??
wait who actually thinks like that, I saw it in a game, therefore it is a game?
I know that line made me RAGE! Gamers don't think stuff that happens in a game is a game; by far that is the worst logic I have seen anyone come up with in the last week (I see a lot of stupid). Also from what I know bulletstorm doesn't have rape (or any sexual content apart from the 'humour')in it, and if were renacting bulletstorm rape would be the least of our worries.

"I have facts that show that I'm right, but I don't feel like looking them up when I'm asked to present them."

Amazing debating skill there folks. Almost as good as the near-perfect "Stick your fingers in your ears and go 'I CAN'T HEAR YOU, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!' very loudly".

And we all know that the reason why the number of rape incidents has been decreasing over the years is because the percentage of rape victims who don't report the incident has been dramatically increasing over the last decade.

But of course Lieberman doesn't need to show us facts or studies. All that you need to do is look outside and see the millions who play violent video games run around raping people all the time.

She knows what she's talking about, obviously.
