I have never played a Metroid game before lol, Seriously i saw the cover for the first time a few years ago and i thought Master Chief turned camp.

And i mean does it flow well, are the controls easy, what makes it the popular title it is now? Without giving the story away lol
It flows very well. As for the controls, it's moderately hard gameplay wise, but it's relatively easy to get used to the controls. As for what makes it a popular, any number of reasons: good pacing, good aspect on exploration and not on the pewpewpew, some fantastic gunplay when the focus does shift to it, and some very well-done atmospheres.
May give it a try, at least i have acctualy seen this game in the shops.

TIME SPLITTERS FUTRURE PERFECT

Awesome game, still play it now, zillions of characters, infinitly fun multiplayer, got a MASSIVE kill streak (a few thousand bots) but my memory card got corrupted and it gots deleteded...

BITE MY CRUNCHY BROWN ASS!
-Gingerbreadman (yes that is an actual line from an actual character)
Naa. Timesplitters 2. Before the game got obsessed with monkies and huge breasts. Gotta love flame tag.
Although I agree with getting Timesplitters 2 (love that game, it was so fun to play), I do remember there being plenty of monkies and big boobs in TS2. I never played Future Perfect, so maybe there are even more monkies and huge breasts in it (!). Personally I loved Virus (flee from the infected for as long as possible!)

But yeah TS2 and I guess Future Perfect are two great FPS that don't really take themselves to seriously (play as a dual-shotgun wielding snowman fighting Elvis impersonators and their dinosaur allies armed with bricks).

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System was a really fun TPS. Great combat, good humor, and fun to play with friends.

Some of the ones I've seen listed so far, but would agree that are good: Metroid Prime 1&2, Zelda: Windwaker and Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Melee is still fun, Pikmin 1&2 were both great, and Custom Robo is interesting.

Damn, now I want to go back and start playing some of these...

Edit: MY GOD! How could I forget Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction?!?! That game was so fun to play. Don't know if you've played [Prototype], but when I played it I had serious deja vu. The controls are very similar, but the attacks can get really fun. Pick up dudes and flick them, us a tank turret like a hammer (from the hammer toss), turn cars into big metal boxing gloves, kick helicopters at their buddies, use missiles from missile pods, catch missiles and throw them back, punch missiles back, use wrecking balls as a giant ball and chain combo, float around with a giant inflatable gorrila, use your amazing strengh to kill things by clapping, the list goes on. But yeah, I definately recommend it. you could say perhaps that the game is Incredible.

Although I probably shouldn't say this, the Wii version of Metroid Prime actually handles better than the GC counterpart, but it takes some more getting used to than the GC controls.

Smash Bros. Melee was pretty fun and Mario Kart Double Dash is better than Mario Kart Wii in every single way. The Metroid Prime Series on there was pretty ace too :D

Starfox Adventures (someone's posted this, but it was alot of fun :p) F-Zero GX was fun, just a remake of F-Zero X which was on the N64... I've been told there was a remake of Lylatwars too, Starfox Assault or something, I'd get that cos Lylatwars was brilliant.

The Collector's Ed thing of Wind Waker also had Ocarina of Time and Orcarina of Time: Master Quest on another disk (Master Quest being a harder version) and they're still the best Zelda games imo.

Basically, just go with all the natural Nintendo games and some 3rd party games.

Ahh, I miss the Gamecube, it beat the Wii in every sodding way

Edit: It's been said, but I missed Luigi's Mansion, that was totally awesome

Oh yeah, Billy Hatcher! Christ, that was a weird game. Fairly fun tho, in the most bizzarre and definitely Japanese way.

Basically, you run around as a guy (there are other characters later on I believe) wearing a chicken suit, hatching eggs with various contents and bringing Morning back by beating the nasty baddies and hatching the Golden Rooster Chicken Things that signal Morning for that area.

...If I remember right....

Hey, if you need somewhere else to look apart from CEX I think Gamestation still has some second hand Gamecube games too. Hope that helps.

As for games: I love Double Dash, Windwaker, F-Zero GX. Super Monkey Ball is pretty fun for late night sessions with friends too.

A very good tip. I enjoyed Starfox: Adventures too but it wasn't everyone's cup of tea.

Pikmin! Oh wait, you've already played that.

Pikmin 2!!

Okay, okay, fine. I'd say go with Starfox Adventures. Sure, it's not that great of a game to most people, but I like it. It has it's moments. But it's still better than Assault...which you should probably get, too.

Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros Melee, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing, Simpsons Hit n' Run, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, and Super Mario Sunshine are what I'd suggest. If you can find it, also try to find the Gameboy Player, as it's fun to play GB/GBC/GBA games on a big screen.
Pokemon on the big screen...

*Drools*
Pokemon on the big screen makes me moist, and Im a dude. A manly dude that worked as a lumberjack for 2 summers and drove tanks and shit.

TF2 only had one tailed primate, though there were still a fair few larger-than-average titties on display. It's just it didn't take refuge in these things. For example, the disk for Future Perfect was just a giant monkey face, and the monkies themselves weren't just a PC, but an entire class of PCs.
Virus was always fun, but personally I still miss Mansion Last Stand.

You absolutely need to play the Resident Evil remake. Once you figure out its awkward control scheme, it's one of the most tense, frightening and challenging games you can get. Also, due to its use of pre-rendered environments, it's by far the prettiest looking game of the last generation. Seriously, when you boot it up, you won't believe it's running on a GameCube.

That'st what I figured. I know that there were plenty of monkeys and tatas in TS2 but I figured they might have gone even more overboard with Future Perfect. An entire class of PCs, jeez how many monkies do you need...
