Looking at the Nintendo 64 thread got my mind thinking back on good old titles from the olden days like Hybrid Haven on the N64 and Dark Cloud 2 on the PS2. What games does everyone else wish would get an update and be available to buy on a more recent console?

My list is...

Dark Cloud 2, Hybrid Haven, Final Fantasy IX (yes it is available as a PS One classic, but a visual update would be nice), and Hexxen.

I'd like to see Mafia 1 remade. It's such an amazing game. Imagine it with realistic graphics and even more immersive atmosphere of the 30's.

Front Mission 3!

I still boot up an emulator and play it from time to time. I got the Front Mission game on the xbox360.....but just....no, its a 3rd person shooter, not a Front Mission game.

Obligatory hug to anyone who mentions best game ever online! C'mere you adorable wanzer lover!

But yeah, I'd give my little finger to have Front Mission 3 rereleased with improved graphics and animation. Not even super HD graphics, just Front Mission 4 or 5 level would be amazing.

None. It seems that every game that gets a reboot it comes out as a linear, cinematic action game despite what the original game was (looking at you Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution).

On the other hand I would really like to see Nintendo remake and improve Fire Emblem 6 and port it to NA and EU.

Having seen the Streets of Rage remake video, I'm inclined to agree with this statement. God, it looked s**te!!

That said, I'd also like to see a remake of Zombies (Ate my Neighbours)!! Zeke and Julie FTW!!

As mentioned before, Front Mission 3 is one of my top 5 PS1 games of all time.

Though I would like to see the entire Timesplitters series redone and the graphics upped. Also give the first 2 the same style and gui of Future Perfect so it's not quite so bare-bones.

Ah sod it just make Timesplitters 4 already :(

All of the Panzer Dragoon games from the Sega Saturn. The original Panzer Dragoon, and the sequel, Panzer Dragoon Zwei were some of the best rail-shooters ever made, with some neat enemy design and a surprisingly interesting world for the game to be set in. And Panzer Dragoon Saga is probably one of the most underrated RPG's of it's time. One of the best game that basically no one got to play because it was on the Sega Saturn.

Honestly, I'd be immensely happy if those three games just got a straight-up digital release. It'd be a net-positive for gaming.

To add to the list, I would love for the Homeworld series to FINALLY get a digital release. Update the textures a bit, but besides that, the art style has aged incredibly well. Here's hoping that Gearbox will do the right thing, and everyone will finally get the chance to enjoy three of the best sci-fi, 3D space RTS games ever made.

Knights of the old Republic, it was recently ported to the iPad and all they would really need to do was improve the graphics and maybe add some more animations to the combat

Lightsaber duels in the Frostbite 2 engine..that would be so awesome

Most of the games I love would probably ruined by modern trends, I'm positive Final Fantasy VII would be screwed because years after the game Square seems to have forgotten Cloud wasn't an emo-child and even made a movie in regards to how emo they want him to be.

So I think all the games I like are good AS-IS :|

Let's get this out of the way
Final Fantasy VII

also Final Fantasy VI would be nice too

I actually think Final Fantasy IX stands up graphically a lot better than most PS1 games

Shinobi III needs to be on XBLA and PSN, but, for total updates....

The original Deus Ex's, Bloody Roar, Shadowrun (the Sega Genesis one, with Jake, would make for a great remake if given the play style of Resident Evil 4 with conversation system of say....Dragon Age 2)((no, we won't talk about the horrible shooter for 360)), Jersey Devil, Primal Rage.

Yes a remake of Hexen would be perfect, that game was almost the entirety of my childhood. Also if it were remade today, it would be surprisingly bloody considering that the whole world was exterminated and there is nary a room without crucified people everywhere.

A few other games that should get remade:
Heretic:This game had the coolest villain in video game history. Seeing D'sparil today would be amazing and it would make up for his shitty appearance and voice in Heretic 2.
Doom Episodes 1-4:The level design in pre-doomII doom was amazing. Nothing comes close to the last level of the Shores of Hell. Also the soundtrack was to die for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETV9fPmieOM
Firewarior: Probably the worst 40k game to date, but it was still really fun and its what got me into 40k.
Fable:Despite the shit it gets its a pretty damn good game and it was also the first RPG I ever played. Maybe Molyneux will be able to do what he promised to do with it 10 years ago.
Medieval 2: This game really needs an update. Its good, but the ai is hilariously bad. Also the diplomacy system was completely broke due to coding issues and I may love heavy Cavalry, but their charges were just ridiculous.
