Games from the old days you'd want to see remade/updated.

I would love to see a game in the same vein as Star Control II in a modern style. Kind of like Mass Effect 3, but with the emphasis on ship combat rather than squad based ground combat and using diplomacy and interaction with alien races as the core mechanic rather than just a reason to go to the next shooting gallery. Also, the characters in that game were great:

RISE OF NATIONS. Seriously. Just update the graphics and remove a few of the issues (Late game basic infantry need to be cheaper to offset the fact that they are pretty useless.) and BAM, you have the worlds best RTS rebooted for a modern audience.

Master of Orion 2. It wouldn't need alot of updating, just the graphics and a little more depth to some of the mechancics (diplomacy etc).

The first two games of the Suikoden series, Ultima 4-6, and most of the Might and Magic series. May needs lots of updates to any of those games, but they were my favorites.

- Magic: The Gathering (Microprose version)
- FF 6
- Kotor
- Sim Ant
- Puzzle Quest (the original deserves a proper AAA story driven treatment IMO)

But seriously, GTA Vice City. The game isn't that old but I'd love to see it re released with better 3D models, updated graphics (and maybe some decent PC controls).

Strider, it can either be something like Strider 2 but with some kind of penalty to death (at least going to the beginning of the stage), or it could be a Devil May Cry clone. I'd be alright with another dmc clone if they make Strider properly, but I think MGR: Revengeance is a pretty good substitute it just needs crazier bosses.

Heretic and Hexen would sure do well with an update for me. I don't actually want a remake, as they would likely end up taking all kinds of mechanics from modern shooters, and their differences from said shooters are the second biggest reason I like them, next to nostalgia. Keep the grainy graphics and the 2 1/2-D dungeons, keep the old-fashioned midi soundtrack, I want as authentic a retro experience as possible. I just want them to update the code so I can play them on my amazing modern supercomputer. Maybe someone already has somewhere, it wouldn't surprise me, but I wouldn't know where to look for it...

I would really like to see a revival of the Mutant League sports games. They don't have to be super nice graphics or anything, I mean I think the visuals from Orcs Must Die or even World of Warcraft would compliment a Mutant League: Football game quite nicely.

Beat me to the punch, I would LOVE a remake of Mutant League Football, especially one done with the graphics of the Madden games or even Bloodbowl. I'd buy that one in a heartbeat and I usually don't even like sports games much.

Besides that, I'd love to see a remake of Syndicate (the garbage FPS doesn't count), Clive Barker's Undying, Sacrifice, and KKND 2.

I would love for old Snes game, Illusion of Time to be re released as a PSN/Xbox Live so that more people can play this awesome RPG and not all make me feel like I am the only person to of ever played this game (or worse, make me think this game was just in my head).

That game was my childhood and I would be willing to do anything to see a remake... or better yet a good sequel. You hear that EA, I will do "things" if you just remade Rogue Squadron. Make it happen now.

I was wondering what we were counting as old but then I saw the PS2 mentioned so I guess not many are excluded, anyway FFVII remake just do it heres all my money (2 pounds 33 and a half pence will cover it right? Ive got afew buttons somewhere to sweeten the deal and some gold coins but I think they have melted).

Other than that an updated Darkstalkers 3 would be amazing or rather remake like they did with super turbo HD. A darkstalkers that looks as smooth as Skullgirls would be amazing I know its a long shot but I hope that poll Lab Zero did leads to something like this as Capcom seem intent on mostly ignoring the series despite its awesomeness a bit like Namco with Soul Calibur ok not totally ignored but certainly mistreated.

I'd like to see an update to Jazz Jackrabbit. Just up the resolution of the graphical tiles so they look nice at 1920*1080 and leave the rest alone. No changes to the music! The module format music sounds perfect as it is if played on a sufficiently smart MOD player.
