I fell in love with this game when I was young.
Oh my God, me too. I could never get past the mountain bit, if I recall. I remember the sequel much more than the first one.

jetmoto was awesome that is all I have to say and it is available on psn for download so at least sony remembers it, I still have the discs for both 1 and 2. It was one of the few ps1 games that my sister would play with me, along with bomberman, and sometimes twisted metal. thanks for reminding me of that time.

one I have to add from that time
had a unique combat system even if it was turn based

Was it Hexen that was two players on the N64? That was awesome. Good times.

Aliens Trilogy (PSX) and Aliens 3 (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis), were pretty cool because they were nothing like the movies. In Trilogy you just run around the different levels from all the movies killing Aliens. It was pretty scary at 3am crawling through air-vents waiting for a face-hugger to attack.

Chopper Attack on N64 was pretty cool. Like a cross between a schmup and an FPS.

And Dark Rift was good fun. As was Jet Force Gemini and Wipeout 64.

I wouldn't say it was a spectacular game but I remember it fondly. I played it for hours on end and still never managed to finish it.

Escape Velocity: Nova. God damn is that a good game. My friends and I are the only ones who know about it.
I waaaayyyyy preferred the original to Nova. Mainly because Nova had endings, and was quite short. (You can beat it within 5 hours of flying to Sol with the Vellos questline!) There also weren't anywhere near as many sidequests/questlines. The original EV, however, is one of my all-time favorites.

*sigh* Stupid Rabbids have tarnished the image of a game icon.

Anybody remember MediEvil, or is it just me? I thought that game was fantastic, back in the day...

Both Medievil and Medievil II were amazing the remake of Medievil was good but they made it a kiddy kind of game.... then again I did start playing Medievil when I was 6.... I think.

I joined this forum just to post in this thread.

WING COMMANDER: a space simulator that felt more like a movie. I liked it for the fact that you are in a universe where humanity is getting the proverbial kicked out of it. Also, the game would let you progress if you failed your mission yet survived, but as a result the humans would go on to lose the war. It's a game dynamic I've not seen repeated.

LORDS OF MIDNIGHT: From about 1983, on the Spectrum. 60,000 screens (!) mapping out a kindgom - you go around, recruit other lords to your banner, building up your army and killing the equivalent of Sauron. It was amazing considering you only needed 48K to run it in.

Mercenaries: playground of destruction

Actually, I wasted about a few months of my life playing that game. It was amazing. I did all the cheats to get tons of money and all the Merchant unlocks so it was Mercenaries: Fucking Vehicles and Explosions.

I loved getting in a super fast car, putting all the C4 I had on it, and drove it to the maximum speed into a town, jumping out of the car, and blowing it up while it was still moving. Badass.
